my kids have unusual first names and followed by 2 middle names. my daughter's middle names are Jean after my nan and Honey (no idea where from it just goes well)

dd2 due in 8 weeks is going to hopefully be Dottie and then have Sylvia as a middle name after dh's mum but between her first name and that I want an off the wall ish name.

so far i have come up with:

Dottie Blossom Sylvia
Dottie Lilac Sylvia
Dottie Velvet Sylvia

i know they are not to everyone's taste so i'm not looking for slating - just ideas for any other combinations or preferences to what sounds right??

thanks in advance

I am leaning towards Lilac. But also like Blossom. Not so keen on Velvet cos when I touch it I get the heebie geebies.

LOVE Dottie.

Just love it.

I think a 1 syllable name would sound best but tricky to think of. How about:

Boo
Belle

Quite like Blossom

ATailOfTwoKitties · 20/09/2012 12:08

Dottie Velvet does sound like something from Johnny Boden's latest offering, I'm afraid.

manicinsomniac · 20/09/2012 12:45

I like Dottie Lilac best from your choices.

Other off the wall-ish choices:
Dottie Arwen
Dottie Star
Dottie Rainbow
Dottie Willow
Dottie Misty
Dottie Eden
Dottie Effie
Dottie Zillah
Dottie Yvette
Dottie Elina
Dottie Romily
Dottie Katinka
Dottie Tarryn

I like the combo with Blossom, very pretty.

How about; Boheme, Starlight, Plum, Queenie, Mirabel, Pearl, Emerald, Dune, Mauve, Faun, Tuesday, Wednesday, Lark, Wren, Peach, Teal, Meadow, Kitten?

Autumn?

saskia87 · 20/09/2012 13:32

Dottie Sunshine Sylvia. I like Velvet too - makes me think of Liz Taylor

SuoceraBlues · 20/09/2012 13:55

Boo

I think that toddlers and tiras Honey Boo Boo may take the shine off that particular choice for a while to come.

Hedwig3 · 20/09/2012 13:55

Love the suggestion of Daydream Smile

Dottie Day
Dottie Dream
Dottie Dawn
Dottie Love
Dottie Rainbow

Something a bit seedy about Velvet for me.

glendathegoodwitch · 20/09/2012 14:31

awwww thank you so much for not laughing off my suggestions and I love the ones coming up especially Tuesday, Willow, Autumn and Boo - I like Daydream but my teachers used to call me dolly daydream lol so think its a bit too away with the fairies!!!

I don't like Velvet because it sounds a bit like a material, velvet with dots on.

Lilac is the same I suppose with the material thing, but, er, I'll ignore that because I like Lilac.

Blossom is Ok.

Lilac is my favourite!

Dottie Desiree - should have an accent on the first e i think, but too fick to do them.

dh's granny was Dorothea Desiree, and known as Didi. i think they go really well together.

congratulations Grin

Love Dottie Lilac Sylvia...it's great.

My suggestion otherwise = Dottie Moonshine Sylvia (just like the sound) but Lilac is better!
