We're still seeking inspiration. Can you give me your absolute favourite girls name - just one - never min whether it goes with siblings or surname or is too posh or dh doesn't like it. I'd just love to know everyone's favourite. Maybe we'll be inspired.

After DD's name, Linda. Not allowed to use it because of bonkers extended family member!

Revelsarethebest · 28/09/2012 16:17

Devon, its my DD name, although i ve never been to Devon, just loved the name

pmTea · 28/09/2012 11:14

me too, BikeRunSki Smile

I am half Greek and love the name Xenia, but like XANTHE the real pronunciation is as an actual X sound, not a Z.
That's why I never called my DD Xenia, because many peeps over here cannot pronounce it or choose to use the Z instead and that does my nut Smile
Then again, each to his own!

Nancy

Cezella · 27/09/2012 14:17

Lola is my absolute favourite

scottishmummy · 23/09/2012 18:56

xanthe is gorgeous name

lucybrad · 23/09/2012 17:21

Xanthe - prounounced Zanthy, my beautiful DD's name. Everyone always comments positively about it.

HoratiaWinwood · 23/09/2012 14:56

All-time favourite: Juliet. Agree with pp who said Juliet (with a quiet 't' not ette, and yes it does makes a difference!)

If TTTW is your favourite film, how about Claire (although a bit plain with Connie) or Audrey (old lady chic, a better match)?

TreacleChops · 23/09/2012 14:36

Matilda (tilly)
Charlotte (lottie)
Eleanor (ellie)

kissyfur · 22/09/2012 23:59

Amelie - my lovely little DD's name

I love Thea too but can't have it for this DC (if its a girl) because of our surname.

JustSpiro · 22/09/2012 23:51

30-odd is NOT old Grin!

SrirachaGirl · 22/09/2012 23:48

I also automatically think Pandora=Braithwaite but , I'm NOT old Grin.

JustSpiro · 22/09/2012 23:47

And burning the duvet cover demonstrating how an artesian well is sunk Grin!

I picked up so much general knowledge from those books - still have my original hardbacks of the first two from when I was about 11!

My dearest wish is for them to make TV versions of the lastest few, starring Richard Armitage (my Mastermind specialist subject Wink )as Adrian.

BikeRunSki · 22/09/2012 23:29

Spiro - me too, they are my Mastermind Specialist Subject, after Pushchairs Available in the UK, 2007-Present.

Lozario · 22/09/2012 22:30

Bike and Just - yes! "Pandora! I adore ya. I implore ye, don't ignore me."

Is it very sad that this is the only poem I can recite from memory?!

JustSpiro · 22/09/2012 21:16

Bike - I thought that too - but I love, love, love the Adrian Mole books so it wouldn't put me off if I particularly liked the name Grin.

LordFlasheart · 22/09/2012 21:14

DontmindifIdo · 22/09/2012 21:13

burley you should - with the nickname Panda it's great. Sounds weird but try writing it down, a lovely shortening.
