candicemariepratt hope you don't think I'm too nosy (which I am) but as your dd is now a teenager does she like her name? I sometimes wonder how a teenager would feel about having a "granny chic name"...there is sooooo much to consider but at least I have narrowed it down to a few possibilities!

I love Agatha.
Then Juno and then Beatrix.

To be honest, all 3 are good. Agatha is more quiet, Juno feels more out there and Beatrix is a classic with a twist.

My Agatha is 14 now so not quite so little, it is like you said before that people either love the name or are polite and say " that's unusual" when they really mean they don't like it! I think its a beautiful name and have never regretted using it. X

Yeah I agree with you about Agnes and Agatha.....though I prefer Agatha for some reason! Didn't some celeb call her daughter Agnes Lark last year which s super fab....Paul Betthanys wife...can't remember her name!

I realise Agnes and Agatha are different names. But they're in the same vein I think.

I've never met an Agatha. If I met a chubby legged little Agatha it would change the dusty old lady image I currently have of it.

Agynes Deyn does ok. In fact her actual name is Karen or something and she chose Agynes (not sure why that spelling though) so it's got a bit of fashionista-ness on its side already.

It would be interesting to know if anybody else knows of any little Agatha's and whether or not they like their name and what reactions they get to it!?!

Agatha, then Juno then Beatrix. I like them all but I love Agatha (Agie) and would've used if my DH hadn't vetoed it. Fwiw the adult Agie I know hates her name with a passion and was horrified that I was even considering it (she's in her early 40's so has had plenty of time to get used to it).

Eeek, Gertrude is an awful name. There's a very good reason it's never made a comeback. My least favourite name is Gobnait, it's Irish and pronounced Gub-nut. Vile.

I have been talking obsessing about names with be mom dad and dh, both the men LOVE Agatha and my mom doesn't like it at all which I find odd as I thought the men would HATE Agatha....instead they seem to greatly dislike Juno!! I'm just going around in circles Confused

Beatrix as in Beatrix Potter......yes it is a real name Confused! I just think the x makes it a little cuter and spunkier on a little girl! Have you really never heard of Beatrix before?

Why Beatrix? Is that even a name or just one of those weird ways of spelling a name you know like Allyvia for Olivia. Apologies if it is.

I like Juno and Beatrice. I think Agatha is lovely but maybe for a French girl.

I think Juno is similar to Milo, Arlo etc. which might make it sound as if it could be a boys' name. Often if the boys name ends in an "o" the girls equivalent ends in "a", such as Carlo/Carla, Claudio/Claudia, Emilio/Emillia.

I absolutly love them all!
Beatrix is the 'safest' of the 3 I think.
Not sure I'd be brave enough to use agatha but I think it's great! Love aggie as a nn!
Juno is very cool.. Don't think I could pull it off!!

Thanks for the comments so far, gives me plenty to consider! I think Agatha is a bit of a marmite name, so I understand why people either really like it or hate it....I think it would be cute on a little girl!
As regards to Juno I have heard people in previous threads saying that it sounds like a mans name....why is this, I always perceived it as being a very feminine pretty name?! Beatrix is probably my fave but it changes by the day...I love the x a lot more than the Beatrice spelling!
