well the baby was the wrong flavour for Jasper/Kaspar so these are what we're down to, any preferences or prejudices Grin on these?

Kerenza is beautiful and interesting, not made up, and linked to your DH's culture - I love it!

Astrid isn't anywhere near as nice, both syllables sound harsh to me, especially on a small baby, and I can't think of any cute shortenings for it.

I'd definitely go for Kerenza.

CheerfulYank · 13/09/2012 17:41

I like Aster better than Astrid and Astrid better than Karenza. :)

TudorJess · 13/09/2012 17:34

Astrid is harsh, faddy and reminds me of "get rid". It sounds OK in a Scandinavian accent with a soft d, but doesn't go well into English.

Kerenza is OK, at least it's much nicer than Astrid anyway. It's more unusual and the three syllables flow nicely.

Kerenza.

Astrid is blah.

Startailoforangeandgold · 13/09/2012 16:48

Karenza

It's a good Cornish name and never mind the emits!

lisaro · 13/09/2012 16:24

I know, and I normally like Cornish names. Just really don't like it at all. Smile

NightmareWalking · 13/09/2012 16:14

Grin loving your comments on Kerenza ladies. It is a good honest Cornish name I assure you (dh is Cornish is our excuse). Looks like Astrid is the better choice tho!

Kerenza is awful. But then, I dislike Astrid quite a bit also. Sounds like Ass Turd.

lisaro · 13/09/2012 14:14

Kerenza is Really bloody awful.

FoxtrotFoxtrotSierra · 13/09/2012 14:13

Another vote for Astrid.

Kerenza sounds like someone on X Factor.

shumway · 13/09/2012 14:10

I agree with LemarchandsBox.

Mum8 · 13/09/2012 14:09

I like Astrid
Kerenza too harsh of a sound for me
