well the baby was the wrong flavour for Jasper/Kaspar so these are what we're down to, any preferences or prejudices Grin on these?

To the earlier poster "karenza" means love and "whilas" means to look for or search so "karenza whilas karenza" might mean Love seeks love?

BestIsWest · 15/09/2012 22:43

Kerenza is lovely, love traditional regional names. Good choice.

Pochemuchka · 15/09/2012 22:26

Kerenza - I love Cornish names (DM is Cornish) although I'd probably spell it Kerensa as it feels a little softer.

Oh, just read thread and you have already chosen!
Good choice!

LemonLovesLilac · 15/09/2012 22:16

Astrid

perplexedpirate · 15/09/2012 10:38

Good choice.
I know an Astrid and her name has always reminded me of aphids.

Good choice! Smile

We've plumped for Kerenza - thanks ladies. Thegreylady - she is already Kezia for short - didn't take long!

Love both names they were both on my list but vetoed by DH. I will continue to push for Kerensa though in future pregnancies.

So I say Kerensa

Twonker · 15/09/2012 00:43

Agree precisely with wet August.

WetAugust · 15/09/2012 00:27

Kerenza - love it.

Astrid - too astringent.

spiderlight · 14/09/2012 23:30

Kerenza. Astrid has way too many potential horrible nicknames.

thegreylady · 14/09/2012 21:00

I like Kerenza best also Kezia
Astride is OK but prefer Kerenza

Badgerina · 14/09/2012 15:30

I'd go for Cornish Karenza Grin

BobbiFleckman · 14/09/2012 15:12

we had a stained glass window at home that had a slogan "karenza whilas karenza". Never knew what it meant. Am even more baffled to discover it is a cornish name.

GW297 · 14/09/2012 15:10

Astrid is better. Really not keen on Kerenza at all, sorry!

PuppyMonkey · 14/09/2012 15:00

No.

ProudNeathGirl · 14/09/2012 14:59

Though, weirdly, Carenza isn't so bad.

ProudNeathGirl · 14/09/2012 14:58

Kerenza ????? Horrible.

minipie · 14/09/2012 14:57

Astrid

I know you didn't ask for suggestions but how about Anouk or Kristen/Krista which seem to fit with the 2 you like.

picnicbasketcase · 14/09/2012 13:25

I prefer Astrid. Used to know a Karenza and she was a right bitch. I know it shouldn't have a bearing on liking a name but it always seems to.

Pasiphae · 14/09/2012 13:22

I like Astrid better.

Kerenza's nice but it feels aged. I find that name rather "frumpy". Sorry.

telsa · 14/09/2012 11:51

Astrid is really cool.

Sabriel · 13/09/2012 21:48

The 2 spellings are usually Carenza or Kerensa, rather than Kerenza (was one of many favourites that DH vetoed).

I liked Astrid as well but it doesn't go with our surname.

mathanxiety · 13/09/2012 19:53

I love them both.

Sorry.

If DD is likely to be blond I would choose Astrid. I think it needs a Nordic look.
