I googled my son's name and a murderer came up. No relation!

sashh · 08/09/2012 10:28

I know one.

He picks the litter at McDonalds, as far as I know he is not a criminal.

Does it really matter?
Both your dc have the surname of a criminal.

EdMcDunnough · 08/09/2012 09:22

hurricane, sorry, God awful typing

EdMcDunnough · 08/09/2012 09:22

The only one I've heard of is the one in the Hurrican by Bob dylan. And he was innocent. Smile

We do know a baby called Reuben. It's a lovely name.

Badgerina · 08/09/2012 09:12

Great name. It's no more a criminal's name than any other name Smile

Devora · 07/09/2012 23:24

I love Reuben. It was on my shortlist.

AnnaBanananana · 07/09/2012 23:12

Makes me think of Rubén González from Buena Vista Social Club - very cool name IMHO.

AlwaysHoldingOnToStars · 07/09/2012 19:18

I have a Reuben, he's 8, very lovely and so far not showing any criminal tendencies! His nn is Roo or Rooly (just by me, no one else shortens his name yet)

AnnaBanananana · 07/09/2012 19:10

no complication twonker I spell very simple words arseways sometimes when I type, its Reuben my brain just rearranged the words cause it's a bit wonky!

"I think in Hebrew it means something like 'behold: a son' - right?" yes or unexpected son, which is cool because everyone was convinced we'ld have a girl! So we kinda like that it means "nope! its a boy! so there!" Grin

I prefer the old testament spelling to the spanish one as we don't have any spanish roots and we all have old testament names and are christians

Twonker · 07/09/2012 18:57

Ruben is the Hispanic spelling..... Would avoid the eu/ue complication.

MolatovBomb · 07/09/2012 18:53

Haha Eruvande we have 2 girls so I totally understand your perspective!

Eruvande · 07/09/2012 18:41

Yes, Molotov - ours is number 4 after three girls - it seemed appropriate!

DharmaBumpkin · 07/09/2012 18:40

I know lots of Kiwi & Aussie Reuben's... Lovely name!

MolatovBomb · 07/09/2012 18:37

I think in Hebrew it means something like 'behold: a son' - right?

Gabriel, Reuben and Ezra are my favourite boys names, in that order :)

Eruvande · 07/09/2012 18:34

Our Reuben is called Rubes - his own preference.

hellokitty123 · 07/09/2012 18:32

Rueben (Rüben) is the plural of Ruebe/Rübe which means turnips - in German that is Smile!

Paralympia · 07/09/2012 17:36

NO!!

Bimblepops · 07/09/2012 17:35

I think Reuben is a lovely name. Would have loved to call one of my boys Reuben, but knew DH would never go for it.

VivaLeBeaver · 07/09/2012 17:27

It's my cousins name and he's a crim though he does come from a very naice family. Grin

It has Jewish origins.

lottiegarbanzo · 07/09/2012 17:25

No! It's an upper class man or a child whose parents have some imagination and know their own taste.

The only Reuben I can think of is Reuben James from the Kenny Rogers song.

ShoeJunkie · 07/09/2012 16:01

Hope not, it's DS's name!
