Does anyone have an Albert, Ernest or an Arthur?

If so, can you let me know what other names were on your list and also what nicknames you use.

I love these three names for a possible DS2 but they seem to receive a slating on these boards, particularly Ernest. I am surprised people dislike Ernest so much because I honestly, hand on heart, think it's lovely.

I just want to get a better feel for whether I am living in a little bubble when I am considering these names for any DS2.

I love all 3 of your names Albert, Ernest and Arthur and I also love any nn's for them. Good choices!

Thanks for the suggestions. James and Thomas are nice but a little bland and popular for me.

I do love Henry but again I think it might be becoming popular?

Loving Edmund, Hugo and Frederick! Hugo was on our list for DS1.

How about Alfred, Edwin, Sidney, George, James, Frederick, Charles, Thomas, Henry?

I don't, but know people who do. Ernest gets shortened to Ernie. Albert is not shortened at all but you could have Bertie or Albie. I know an Arthur that again isn't shortened but you could have Artie?

Other similar names:

Stanley (Stan)
Bertram (Bertie)
Hugo
Edmund
Percy
Jolyon (Jolly)

Sure some others will have better suggestions!
