LOVE the name Juliet hate what it can be shortened too. DC2 due shortly and just cannot decide on a girls name I love. Anyone with a Juliet out there that does not have it shortened or would I be fighting a losing battle?

Well there will be some people in their lives who'll call them Jules but that doesn't mean you need to.

And Julie is her full name. Never shortened, the other 2 are Juliet and also not shortened

Ah, I've been wondering the same! I love Juliet and also Juliana but really don't like Julie or Jules either. I actually know a Juliana who is, as far as I know, always Juliana, so I asked her about it and she said she does get Julie sometimes but never Jules. I'm not sure that made me feel any better! I think you can try to a certain extent not to get it shortened but at some point it just will be. My name is a classic of that too - Eleanor, but I've never really liked Ellie, and yet half my friends call me Ellie, just can't do anything about it so I've learned to accept it!

It does put me off Juliet / Juliana, it's such a shame :( Would be interested to see if anyone else has any more helpful comments on this matter.....
