Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
IawnCont · 31/08/2012 09:08

Ooooh I never knew Melina meant runny poo. Blush I shall never be able to look at my grandmother's friend in the same way again...

JustSpiro · 31/08/2012 09:02

Margery - I know a boy Saxon! Don't think it's too bad as unusual names go.

Margerykemp · 31/08/2012 08:58

I met a mum of a Saxon (g) but I actually quite like it!

Frontpaw · 31/08/2012 08:42

I worked with an Edward Bear once. And yes, he did call himself Teddy. he was from Germany, so not sure if he was totally aware (at first anyway). He was not cuddly.

Ham69 · 31/08/2012 08:30

Satin Rose Grin
Could have been worse Satin Shit

outtolunchagain · 31/08/2012 08:22

Snake , did you know that his brother is called Edward Bear , brave parents , one f them has a family law practice I think

JustSpiro · 31/08/2012 08:17

I read Satin Rose as Satan Rose Shock - poor kid!

I know a gorgeous little Theodore though, but have never made that connection - for me it's just one of Alvin's chipmunk friends Grin.

Frontpaw · 31/08/2012 07:14

I just heard an Australian news presenter on the radio called Waynetta - sounded like Way-neeta.

coolragdoll · 31/08/2012 02:03

Labyrinth. Armani (for a girl). Poor kids. There's also a mum near me who shouts "Destin-ah! destin-ah" all the time at her poor child. My friend nearly called her son Rocket, but fortunately changed her mind at the last minute.

After giving birth to my daughter, there was a woman a few beds down who had a girl named Satin Rose. That name will be forever burned into my brain because the woman said it every five seconds when talking to her baby....for the whole night...

Pleasenomorepeppa · 30/08/2012 23:55

A little boy at my DD's play group is called L'Ren.
For me any name that has to be justified/explained when you tell it to someone is a no no!

BlueSuedeStiletto · 30/08/2012 23:53

lawnCont even. Damn autocorrect!

crackcrackcrak · 30/08/2012 23:53

I have the autobiography of a lawyer called Cupcake Brown - she may well be a judge now. I wouldn't mess with her!

Spike is a great name for a dog. Not a child. Unless its a nickname.

I'm pretty liberal about names as long as they are spelled and punctuated correctly - I think we owe our children that much.

We have some choice names at work though less than you'd think (I am a SW) but its the surnames that amuse me more. You get these kids with exotic first names and surnames straight out of corrie. Example; Champagne, Chantelle and Mercedes.........battersby

BlueSuedeStiletto · 30/08/2012 23:50

lawncourt just saw your post. I don't think Ivy is 'out there', its on my list for potential DD. However Melina (actually spelled melaena) is the medical term for bloody, mucousy diarrhoea and therefore makes me cringe a bit when it's used as a girl's name!

mrswright1 · 30/08/2012 23:35

Dwayne Pipe, i love it!

mrswright1 · 30/08/2012 23:34

The worst i heard was 2 little boys, one called Eric Derek, the other called Peter Blue (this was because his mother wouldnt agree to Blue Peter!)

BigHairyFlowers · 30/08/2012 23:29

Yika · 30/08/2012 23:15

BigHairyFlowers · 30/08/2012 23:14
