Which girls names do you love that are outside the top 100?

A couple of the names on our shortlist turned out to be in the top 10 and although we like them we have not found one we love yet. We seem to be going round in circles and most names are boring me now so we need some different suggestions. Help!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sorry to hijack the thread but I think it's so sad that people are put off the name madeleine. It's like saying you shouldn't name your child freddie or rose because of the wests orben because there was boy kinapped years ago called ben etc. It's just nonsense. I am biased because madeleine is my name & I find it weird that someone would therefore associate me with a child kinapping that happened years ago. Anyway rant over!!

I obviously think madeleine is a great choice but how about

Well, I thought I'd made Nyla up but according to my trusty book it means 'winner' in Arabic and was the name of an ancient egyptian princess.
We have considered the Madeleine McCann issue but despite the tragic circumstances she was a beautiful little girl who deserves to be remembered, not a murderer....does that make sense? Not sure I explained that very well!

I like Nyla, I've not heard it before - is it Arabic?

Personally, Madeleine is on the list of 'lovely names I could never use' because of Madeleine McCann: the name just makes me feel so sad as it's so tragic. But that is a personal opinion that I'm sure has been well debated on this board.

Basking if bump was a boy he'd have been Reuben but midwife assures us it's a girl!
Some really good suggestions here, thank you all.
Currently considering Nyla and Madeleine...any thoughts?

Well Mothership , Moonunit has not made it to the shortlist. Neither has Leaf (I know a boy called this Hmm) or River. We also don't like cutesy names like Maisie/Daisy/Millie etc. We're looking for something that would suit a wee one and an adult (Holly was vetoed for this reason). We also want something that is pretty but not sickly.....am I making any sense?!
Unfortunately OH and I have very different taste but one's we both quite like are Emily, Emilia, Felicity, Leila. OH has vetoed so many as he has quite boring traditional taste ( Ariella, Persephone, Harper-damn the Beckhams!).
I like a few of manics suggestions including Iris which I'm pretty sure has already been vetoed by himself but I will suggest again as he tends to come out with suggestions he previously said no to! Also loving Ayla but I've a feeling he'll say no.
Are we just overthinking and being unrealistic about finding the 'one'? We love our boys name so much and really want to feel the same about our daughter's name.
