Obviously like Ferris Bueller.. I love that film. But is it a bit wafty for a little boy?
I have a few other options (and don't know if it's boy or girl) but just thought of this today and liked it, but obviously not 100% hence canvassing opinion.
Thanks

I have 2 other boys names I have liked for ages - plus it might be a girl. Ferris was one that popped into my head yesterday and wasn't sure about so thought I'd canvas opinion on here.

Faris makes me think of Faris from The Horrors so no.

And I think there may be a few baby Farah's post Mo's Olympic glory. I actually considered Farah for a girl for a moment. I am not set on names that sound like Ferris at all.

I have to say, the closer I get, the less I am sure about any of my names!

Wheel

CanoeSlalom · 26/08/2012 16:53

You (and he) could get so fed up with "wheel" comments. What are the other names you like? :)

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 26/08/2012 15:54

I also think it sounds like an adjective

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 26/08/2012 15:54

Sorry, I thinks it's awful . Faddy, surnamey, made-up. Wheel.

PeshwariNaan · 26/08/2012 15:50

Bueller...Bueller...

WithACherryOnTop · 26/08/2012 15:49

In fact I'm so Glaswegian that I had to say it twice.Grin

WithACherryOnTop · 26/08/2012 15:47

It's dreadful. It also makes me think of the 'gangster' Paul Ferris,I am Glaswegian though, and not just the wheel,I am Glaswegian though. It's a very unattractive first name imho.

LastMangoInParis · 26/08/2012 11:02

How about Farah?
(Like life, he moves pretty fast...)

Flutterbutterby · 26/08/2012 08:22

How about Faris?

PollyIndia · 26/08/2012 08:15

I love that quote legarmpits!
Ferris wheel not the place of conception but that would have been a good story.
Birdofthenorth I didn't think too much about that connection either. I agree ferris wheel is quite old fashioned.
More worried about the ferret link. Really don't want to saddle a child of mine with a name that makes him fair game for teasing!

It was top of my list! Didn't use in the end as it just didn't go at all with DDs name, but I wish we had sometimes.

Remember, life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

OneOfMyTurnsComingOn · 26/08/2012 07:55

I think most people will think wheel.

I think Bueller, but aren't a lot of parents withs babies now too young to remember him?

birdofthenorth · 26/08/2012 07:53

Buelleeeeeeeeeeer!

But ao would probably say that once, hopefully not the new parents directly, then come round to it. He'd get a lot of "is it your day off?" comments from witty parents I suspect but presumably it'd mean nowt to his peers.

Ferris wheel wouldn't really bother me. They're big wheels these days, no?

Annunziata · 25/08/2012 22:54

Ferrous iron? I never did listen in science.

savoycabbage · 25/08/2012 22:52

ROLF at Edith wondering (aghast) if it is a place of conception name. So am I now.

TidyDancer · 25/08/2012 22:50

Sorry, it's not for me.

I've only heard it as a surname and I don't like the person with the name so that's possibly clouding my judgement.

But objectively, you will hear the wheel connection quite a lot.

Zara1984 · 25/08/2012 22:44

Ferris Wheel
Ferris the Ferret

Sorry Sad

EnjoyResponsibly · 25/08/2012 22:43

I hear Beuller...Beuller

Your DC will hear Ferret

Sad
floranora · 25/08/2012 22:40

i like it! it has no connections for me, just a cool name

NellyBluth · 25/08/2012 22:35

Stoooooopid - Grin - cross post!

NellyBluth · 25/08/2012 22:35

Definitely hear "Bueller... Bueller.... Bueller...?" - but I don't think your baby's class mates are likely to think that. Its one of those names, though, that I think would work better if your future DS was one of the 'cool' kids in school, if that makes any sense.

stoooooopidpigeon · 25/08/2012 22:33

In my head, I'd just be thinking 'Bueller..........Bueller..........Bueller'. But aside from that connection, it does seem a bit 'weak' I suppose. A bit 'walter' esque.

ParaOlympicpark · 25/08/2012 22:33

I like it, it's unique, not twatty and cool.
