A new suggestion from DP and one I would ever have thought of myself.

I can't decide whether I like it or not.

Any thoughts?

I love it. My little sister is called Lauren and I wish I had been instead! She gets calls Lol or Lolly mostly though. (or Lollypop by me!)

I got Lisa-Marie and still get asked if my mum was an elvis fan! (she wasn't!)

flowers123 · 27/08/2012 21:30

Really like it x

Nospringflower · 27/08/2012 21:28

Agree that here Lauren is considered a bit 'popular' although I like the name.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 27/08/2012 21:26

I love the name- would've been on our list if sis in law wasn't called Laura!

survivingsummer · 27/08/2012 15:10

Lovely name. Seemed much more popular about 10 yrs ago (I work with children so meet quite a few!) but not sure why not these days.

emilysmi · 26/08/2012 22:36

I like it :)

IShotJR · 26/08/2012 13:33

My american grandfather was called Loren. I will be using for my next DS/D. I will just change the spelling. So two thumbs up from me!

cakeismysaviour · 26/08/2012 13:25

Had forgotten about the Catherine Tate connection!

Its still firmly on the list now, though. :)

Not so keen on Laura.

Yes, Lauren is nice but I too much prefer Laura. It's such a classic and pretty name

birdofthenorth · 26/08/2012 07:48

Ruined by Catherine Tate for me sadly. Presume that's where the chav comments come from? I'd go for good old fashioned Laura instead.

Floggingmolly · 26/08/2012 00:07

Chavvy Hmm. It's hardly on the same level as Chardonnay, is it?

almapudden · 26/08/2012 00:06

Just to throw a spanner in the works, where I come from it was common as in chavvy. Depends where you are, I suppose!

Badgerina · 25/08/2012 23:46

Like. It's not a name I'd use myself, but I think it's very elegant.

Lozario · 25/08/2012 22:57

I'm a Lauren! Get called Loz these days but love being a Lauren officially. It seems to be one of those names that people think is common but actually I don't know any other Laurens. Grin

HiHowAreYou · 25/08/2012 22:54

I'm sure I read a thread here once where everyone was saying it was 'common', I was coming to defend it. I like the name!

Pochemuchka · 25/08/2012 22:43

I like it. And every Lauren I've met (only a few of a variety of ages) has been lovely.

CanoeSlalom · 25/08/2012 22:41

I like it :)

ParaOlympicpark · 25/08/2012 22:39

Very nice name.

marshmallowpies · 25/08/2012 22:39

Love it. Lauren Laverne is a pretty cool namesake to have!

Tangointhenight · 25/08/2012 22:39

It's really beautiful! Such a classic :)

Floggingmolly · 25/08/2012 22:37

It's my dd's name, naturally I love it Smile

Yika · 25/08/2012 22:32

Classy, elegant name. I like it.

cakeismysaviour · 25/08/2012 22:31

Thanks all for your thoughts and honest reactions.

I really am getting more and more keen on this name now. :)
