Paloma, Ivy or Ursula

Which do you like best?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
winkle2 · 26/08/2012 22:40

Love Ursula!

It's my number 1 fave name.

InTheNameofTheWeeMan · 26/08/2012 21:12

OP really don't take opinions to heart - I have a Claudia and I have said that on a thread and got the "but it means disabled, I just couldn't use it" "awful name, means lame" comments. Who cares?

Secondly Ursula is a name now outside Disney films it isn't like she wants to call the kid Maleficent Grin

Ursula I like
Paloma I think is nice but a bit too current with Paloma Faith?
Ivy - not pretty at all where the other 2 are.

Yama · 26/08/2012 20:49

Paloma
Ursula

Don't like Ivy.

StarryEyedMama · 26/08/2012 20:47

Ivy

FriedSprout · 26/08/2012 20:46

Ursula

Pancakeflipper · 26/08/2012 20:42

Ursula. I adore that name.

TessTosterone · 26/08/2012 20:40

Ivy ok.

The others are IMO awful.

You do seem a tad sensitive. I never really get why anyone wants opinions from a load of strangers.

Homebird8 · 26/08/2012 20:35

Ivy

emilysmi · 26/08/2012 20:30

Paloma (-:

youonlysingwhenyourewinning · 26/08/2012 18:26

Ivy is my favourite, at a push, though I'm really not keen on any.

Ursula is my least favourite, but I won't say why, given your previous posts.

baskingseals · 26/08/2012 18:15

i like ursula the best.

BergamotCourtyard · 26/08/2012 17:06

Ursula is my favourite by a mile.

Paloma is may be faddy. If you're Spanish it would seem a more authentic choice. Although I've known people with a variety of names, I've never known an Ivy in reality so can't give you a reliable frame of reference.

Kelerina · 26/08/2012 16:35

I LOVE Ursula, I have it on my list......but i'm thinking I may not get it past DP, 2nd favourite is Paloma, really lovely name but not sure if it will soar in popularity due to Paloma Faith, Ivy is my least favourite

crisisofidentity · 26/08/2012 12:59

Isn't she a character in DH Lawrence women in love? With a sister Gudrun.

crisisofidentity · 26/08/2012 12:57

I love Ursula , one of my favourite names.

Leftwingharpie · 26/08/2012 12:48

I like Ursula best. Ivy has grown on me through reading the thread. Least keen on Paloma.

imustbepatient · 26/08/2012 11:15

OP I'd ignore some of the feeling on here which seems to be getting a bit heated! Names really are so personal aren't they?!

Paloma and Ursula are both lovely. Elegant, graceful and not heard too often. Hard to pick between the two, shame they don't found perfect as first and middle name together! Although not un-doable. Ivy would work as a middle name if you don't have that sorted already?

floranora · 26/08/2012 10:19

also don't think Felix and Ursula go.

how about Felix and Gocat?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 26/08/2012 10:19

Paloma. Can't hear Ivy without thinking of Ivy Tilsly (ancient emoticon) and was never really fond of Ursula. Paloma is a bit now though.

FellatioNelson · 26/08/2012 10:18

Paloma 1st
Ursula 2nd

Ivy only if you really must. I don't hate it but I don't love it and I think it will become very, very common. (in the over-used sense.)

floranora · 26/08/2012 10:17

most adults wont harp on about the name being the name of a sea witch, but children are cruel and will tease.

personally I don't care because im not the one who wants to name my kids such a stupid name. so knock yourself out OP!

cantpooinpeace · 26/08/2012 07:39

Ivy, lovely name Smile

birdofthenorth · 26/08/2012 07:36

Ivy closely followed by Paloma. Ursula still reminds me of Phoebe's evil twin in Friends, sorry!
