My DD is Evelyn. When we named her, we didn't know a single Evie/Eve/Eva/Ava. And now there are looaaaads. But I still only know one Evelyn.

emilysmi · 26/08/2012 22:28

Ava

CherryBlossom27 · 26/08/2012 10:27

I prefer Ava, but I think Eva is more classic. Both lovely names!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 26/08/2012 10:23

Think it depends on where you live, both are really, really common around here.

katielou2012 · 26/08/2012 10:22

My dd is called Ava so Ava for me :)

janey68 · 26/08/2012 10:13

They're both fairly common nowadays but Eva seems a bit less frequently used so I would go for that.
They're both nice names and very similar so its difficult to say which is 'better ' than the other, so I'd go for the one that's less likely to be so popular. But even so I bet there will be other eva / ava in your dds classes at school

thekidsarealright · 25/08/2012 22:16

Both are gorgeous but my DN is Eva and she is utterly delicious.

People who say either are common are of the Trixie-Catflap base - ignore!

exoticfruits · 25/08/2012 22:13

Eva.

buzzgirly · 25/08/2012 22:08

I prefer Ava, but am a bit biased as I have a lovely little Ava of my own. I have never met any other Avas and she is almost 4.

Neither. Waaaaaaaaaaaay too popular. But, if you must, Eva (because it is more classic)

victoriassponge · 25/08/2012 09:41

Ava.

ViviPru · 24/08/2012 12:26

I think Ava is a gorgeous name, I've liked it ever since I was little, when it wasn't popular at all, and of course now it's far more widely used (annoying when that happens ey?).

mummabug · 23/08/2012 22:31

Eva xx

CanoeSlalom · 23/08/2012 20:58

Ava

HiHowAreYou · 23/08/2012 19:39

I prefer Ava.

scarlettsmummy2 · 23/08/2012 19:23

Aoife! Much less common in the uk than Eva and Ava.

babyblabber · 23/08/2012 19:19

Eva is more classic I think, Ava is lovely but a bit more faddy.

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 23/08/2012 18:35

Eva!

mrstowers · 23/08/2012 18:34

Neither! There are soooo many little girls called Ava/Eva/Evie etc.

jellybeans · 23/08/2012 16:55

Eva.

PuffPants · 23/08/2012 16:42

Why don't you try something else altogether? Honestly, there are so many of both around, she'll be Eva B or Ava C (e.g) throughout her schooldays.

EdithWeston · 23/08/2012 16:27

Both are currently in frequent use: on 2010 list, if you added together Eva/Eve/Evie/Ava the name was number 2. I haven't done the arithmetic on the 2011 yet, but the positions remain high.

I prefer Eva (influence of the New Seekers, I suspect).
