In France, it is like Maureen or Brenda or Sandra.....very middle aged and middle of the road.

NurseBernard · 25/08/2012 03:52

I'm sure there's a lot of 'very famous' porn stars and I'm sure all of them have names. I'd hardly let that put you off.

howcomes · 25/08/2012 03:05

I think it's a lovely name, I'm in toronto and the closest primary school to me is a French one, I've met quite a few kids with that name.

Mylittlepuds · 25/08/2012 02:58

Oh God I'm sorry but wasn't there a very famous porn star called this?

NurseBernard · 25/08/2012 01:44

Reminds me of the rather annoying, wet character in Pulp Fiction.

letsblowthistacostand · 24/08/2012 22:29

Love. The thing is, the best (IMO) French nameslike Fabienne, Vivienne, Valentine, etcdon't sound great in a British accent. Fabienne becomes FABBy-in, nn Fab, Vivienne is Viv... If you've got French speaking family, then go right ahead. Otherwise i'd give it a miss.

UterusUterusGhali · 24/08/2012 21:58

LOve it.

(Socialist. Would call a DS Fabian. I do know a female Fabian.)

SilkieChicken · 24/08/2012 20:50

Very pretty btw.

SilkieChicken · 24/08/2012 20:49

Right? Beckslovesitimmy.

BackforGood · 24/08/2012 19:47

Do you have French / Swiss routes ?

beckslovestimmy · 24/08/2012 19:43

New a girl called that, got picked on and called flab-ienne?

twonker · 24/08/2012 00:16

Love it

duchesse · 23/08/2012 22:29

Fabienne is very dated in France. How about Fabiana? Italian/Spanish/Mediterranean version, also works well in UK.

PavlovtheCat · 23/08/2012 22:25

no.

chickenspots · 23/08/2012 22:24

was the name of my French exchange! Grin

mrstowers · 23/08/2012 18:37

I know of a pretentious 30 something Fabienne (Fabs as a nn) here in the UK which has really put me off it sorry.

needsgirlname · 23/08/2012 12:09

i like it too!

language · 23/08/2012 11:59

In France, this is a name of women in their 40-50s. But otherwise it's a nice name.

MagdalenaAlec · 23/08/2012 09:43

What Javotte said. The name peaked in the 70's in France I think. I prefer Vivienne by a long shot.

CruCru · 22/08/2012 23:03

Lovely.

javotte · 22/08/2012 20:24

It is rather dated here in France, but I like it too.

Ambrosius · 22/08/2012 20:14

I like it! :)
