Just come across this name on another baby name site and it got me thinking. I have always loved the name Alicia but know a couple of babies in my circle of friends, called this. Could Phylicia be an alternative or is it just a big old no no? TIA

I knew a Felicia, if this helps.

It rather reminds me of a character in Priscilla Queen of the Desert though.

MoaningMingeWhingesAgain · 21/08/2012 19:54

Looks like Felicia spelled wrong differently to me. I like Felicia though.

picnicbasketcase · 21/08/2012 19:55

Rather nice written down.It does sound a bit like Fellatio though.

greenhill · 21/08/2012 19:56

Phyllis and Felicia crossed sounds like an insect. Felicity/ Felicia or Alicia is better.

mathanxiety · 21/08/2012 19:57

It sounds too like fellatio imo.

(It was also the name of the actress who was Bill Cosby's tv wife in the Cosby show.)

I would say a no no.

Badgerina · 21/08/2012 21:55

Felicity is waaaaaay nicer. Reasons already outlines by others above.

AlexanderSkarsgardOhYes · 22/08/2012 10:15

I would be inclined to spell it Phyllisia. Love all variants of this personally - Phyllis, Felicia, Felicity, Feliciana...

Another possible spelling is Philicia.

needsgirlname · 22/08/2012 10:54

hmmm, not so fond of that name... sounds chemical, medical to me, or like a plant.

manicinsomniac · 22/08/2012 15:54

I like it. But if Felicia is pronounced Fu-lis-ee-a (like Felicity) then I prefer that spelling because it's more 'known' as a name iyswim. I've only seen it written down and thought it was Fu-leesh-a which I'm less keen on.

ErikNorseman · 23/08/2012 14:21

Nooooo
Phyllis isn't a great name. Felicia is lovely but Phyllicia looks like you don't know how to spell.

ASAPRocky · 23/08/2012 14:32

What about felicity? I think it is very pretty :)

squoosh · 23/08/2012 14:54

I think the actress who played the Mum on the Cosby Show is called Phylicia.

Dogsmom · 23/08/2012 17:14

My immediate thought was syphillis, it sounds very 's.t.d'

Felicity is nicer.

Dollydowser · 23/08/2012 17:27

STD is my first thought too, sorry.

HistoryNerd · 23/08/2012 17:40

No.

FuckityFuckFuck · 23/08/2012 17:41

Another one whose first thought was STD Blush

Felicia is good
