Just that really. I'm pregnant with dc2 and I love lots of names but wouldn't have the guts to use some of them - silly I know!!!

One of my faves for a girl is Luna/Lunar.

Just for fun- what are yours?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
freerangelady · 27/08/2012 18:08

ooooh - I now want a Sherlock and and Ptolomy.

Actually seriously considering Horatio!

jaffacakehips · 27/08/2012 18:07

sebastian -boy
india-girl

lizsarah · 27/08/2012 17:17

felicity is a prettyand elegant name.

Namethattune · 27/08/2012 16:06

Celeste. And Sydney (for a girl).

giraffe213 · 27/08/2012 15:42

Arabel. I still might, but suspect it'd be seen as a bit posh...
On the other hand, I think Anastasia is absolutely fine. Maybe because I know one. You could shorten it to Anna or Stacey.

Lol at Inigo (can't remember who suggested that)! It has a lovely ring to it but... you killed my father, prepare to die... Grin

MarysBeard · 27/08/2012 15:40

Oscar - Because I have already used it for a cat

Ursula, Amber, Emilia, Lilia - because they were vetoed by DH

quirrelquarrel · 27/08/2012 14:23

In fact. Hedda and Cybelia (chosen ones), they're not too strange, are they?

quirrelquarrel · 27/08/2012 14:22

Clodagh
Jorma (for some reason I'm so attracted to the sound, although it's so ugly to look at)
Sholto (well, I might use it! but like the first....I'm not Irish)
Makepeace (my future little Nobel prize winner....)
Lorrella/Hannelore/Lelia
Chiara (Chalet school)
Cobalt
Almaviva....maybe Figaro? :-D
Andromeda
Etienne
Portia
Elodie....it's too like mine.
Liberty (bodice)
Fleance
Lysander

Been racking my brains, obviously!
My favourite names are a little out-there, I guess, but since they're my real favourites I'd feel the fear and do it anyway Grin

Psammead · 27/08/2012 14:16

Amity. So pretty, easy going and friendly sounding.

perfectstorm · 27/08/2012 13:36

Hebe! I really like that name. And I met a little boy called Tensing recently, called after Sherpa Tensing (one of the first to conquer Everest). That must have taken some persuasion of his mother. (I met the - charming - Dad.)

perfectstorm · 27/08/2012 13:34

Mixedberries I agree, it is really pretty, in isolation. Hindley has destroyed that name. Doubt there are many little Adolfs, either.

I actually think Anastasia is really pretty on a simple name basis, and Anna is a great short, but you'd sound the most pretentious git alive if you went for it.

peacefuleasyfeeling · 27/08/2012 13:32

Ambrose and Moses. Thisbe and Imelda. We'll see...

Safire · 27/08/2012 13:31

Montserrat for a girl. But we are nowhere near Spanish.

CrazySexyCool123 · 27/08/2012 13:29

Sonny bill

Hotcoffeeisamemory · 27/08/2012 13:27

Oh I also love Elsie and Arthur.

Hotcoffeeisamemory · 27/08/2012 13:26

I love the name Amos. Love it.
Will not be having any more children though.
Both my boys names are extremely popular. We had no idea of popularity when they were chosen though.
Suspect my daughters name is thought of as common (chavvy?) though sadly.

MixedBerries · 27/08/2012 13:24

I really love the name Myra. I just think it sounds lovely but wouldn't want to use it due to the negative associations. Shame.

I love India. I know it's not too 'out there' - but people would be a bit Hmm where I live.

perfectstorm · 27/08/2012 13:18

Oh, and Sorrel! It's a herb, though - worryingly close to Apple territory, perhaps? Having said that, so is Saffron and that hasn't stopped many!

imustbepatient · 27/08/2012 13:18

Portia and Cassandra for a girl, Hector or Gabriel for a boy. Love them all! Currently trying to choose name for DD2 arriving in October and sooo drawn to Portia!

perfectstorm · 27/08/2012 13:18

I love Inigo too. Not realistic, but gorgeous. Also Aurelia.

Shinyshoes1 · 27/08/2012 13:13

Marmalade.......love this for agirl
