Just that really. I'm pregnant with dc2 and I love lots of names but wouldn't have the guts to use some of them - silly I know!!!

One of my faves for a girl is Luna/Lunar.

Just for fun- what are yours?

Hero, for a girl, as in Much Ado About Nothing.

Iglooo · 02/10/2012 17:39

God mumsnet makes me cringe sometimes, if you love a name you should use it, why are you so bothered by how other people may or may not judge you?!

minouminou · 25/09/2012 13:31

Also loved Yngwe and of course Tostig.

Who knows......

minouminou · 25/09/2012 13:30

Raoul for DC2, who turned out to be a DD.

However, three people from three different continents and three different socioeconomic backgrounds all told me - independently - that it sounds like a porn star name. One friend suggested the middle name Rampage to go with it!

This was pre-Raoul Moat days, btw....

Batsgirl · 24/09/2012 16:59

I love Elliott (boy or girl) but someone once said it was "as if the parents were trying too hard" I LOVE that name.

effingwotsits · 24/09/2012 14:08

Spike, Oakley (DH vetoed),

lovesmellingthecoffee · 24/09/2012 14:06

Astrid for a girl and Lucien for a boy
Both vetoed by DH
And the DC's say thank god they got their very normal names instead
also love Thor, Freya, Aethelraed, Aethel

HiHowAreYou · 24/09/2012 11:07

I like Nesta.

CheerfulYank · 22/09/2012 08:04

Cadmium, Saffron, Indigo, and Permanent Rose. Blush

Japple · 21/09/2012 16:27

We couldn't Find a Middle Name to go with these: Dallas,Faydra,Kent,Lexx,
Shan,Morgan,Claudia,Alexande,River,Carey and Diego.

Vamos · 21/09/2012 15:55

Joaquin - lovely but nobody here could pronounce
Salvador - not English enough

mumnosGOLDisbest · 19/09/2012 01:51

Some lovely names here. Id say if you like it use it. DN has a long and unusual name which would easily rival most of these. However after 16 yrs it seems completely notmal to us now!

Jojoba1986 · 19/09/2012 01:38

I really like a lot of the more uncommon biblical names like Mordechai, Malachi, Micah, Zephaniah, Isaiah, Abraham, Ezekiel, Ebenezer, Jesse, Ephraim, Asher, Boaz, Gideon, Ishmael, Jonah, Levi...
I especially like Levi because then he'd be named after my 2 grandmothers - a pair of Jeans! :-D
Needless to say, all the names were either vetoed by DH, taken by friends/family members or mutually discounted as either giving DC the same initials as us or just being a bit too 'unique' or 'only really suitable if you're black or Jewish' as my dad said!
DH did choose DS1's more conventional biblical name so I might insist on something a bit unusual if we have a boy!

I like more 'normal' girls names though - Elizabeth is a family name (we have a Betty, Lilli, Beth & Liz) & I like Libby as a nn but DH vetoed, or maybe Faith or Chloe...

RightsaidFreud · 18/09/2012 11:16

Valentina- but i HATE that it would get shortened to 'val' or 'tina'.... ick.
Lolita- Not sure that would be very well received.

LemonLovesLilac · 15/09/2012 22:18

Bay

Viviennemary · 15/09/2012 13:39

I liked Crystal at the time for DD but DH said absolutely not! Quite glad he did now. I like Veronica but not sure I would use it as it seems a bit old fashioned. I also like Violet and Iris and think I would use them.

lisa2104 · 15/09/2012 13:33

i like Jared mumoftwoteenboys

lisa2104 · 15/09/2012 13:28

I love the name Daenarys. It comes from a book called Game Of Thrones and I really want to use it if I have a girl but I am scared it will get laughed at

JugglingWithFiveRings · 01/09/2012 19:56

Ooh, Olympia would be rather good for a girl born this summer wouldn't it ?
Flora lovely too. I adore flowers Thanks

PeahenTailFeathers · 01/09/2012 12:19

I wanted Thalia, Olympia, Augusta, Tiberius (I was hormonal but I actually still like it Grin) or Delphinium for my DD but she'll hopefully be glad I went with Flora. I did use Augusta as one of her middle names, though.

eggandbean · 01/09/2012 12:11

Troy! Adore the name and goes really well with our surname, DH said an absolute no though, and can't blame him, don't think I'd be brave enough to go for it anyway. sigh So I just daydream about it instead...

Nobhead · 31/08/2012 20:31

If we have another DS DH wants to call him Bryce Hmm he was promptly told to get to fuck Smile

Nobhead · 31/08/2012 20:30

Vincent or Vinnie. Had dreams of calling DS this but when it came down to it we couldn't do it. Still love it though.

blueshoes · 31/08/2012 20:25

Tarquin

Wiggy29 · 31/08/2012 20:18

If we were a bit more hippy zippy me& dp both love Tide for a girl and Oak for a boy.

I loved Ned for dc1 but everyone hated it except my mum. I also liked Sebastian but dp thinks it's too pretentious. I love Avery though so I'll defo suggest that.
