I think I like old fashioned names - anyone care to share what their grandmothers/great-grandmothers were called.

Great-grandmothers - Susan, Letitia, Mary and Rebecca (Ruby - trendsetter in the early 1900s even if she was a wicked old devil!) Not very Scottish really.

Grandmothers - Elizabeth (never shortened to a nickname) and Rebecca (known as Ruby like her mother and my aunt).

Really like Amelia though, lovely name.

headfairy · 14/08/2012 23:36

Jacqueline (my mums mum) and Natalina (my dads mum)

No idea what ggms were called though.

Grandfathers were Gaston (mums) and Gino (dads)

I love Gino and wanted it for ds but dh said it would cause an International Incident Of Epic Proportions if we used my grandfathers name and not dh's grandfathers name (dh didn't like his grandfathers name - Enrico - so didn't want it as a middle name either. FiL probably wouldn't have accepted us using it as "just" a middle name either but he's a twat )
