What were your grandmothers called?

I think I like old fashioned names - anyone care to share what their grandmothers/great-grandmothers were called.

Both my grandmothers had died before was born. One was Dorothy and the other Nellie - but not sure what it was short for. My mum had an Aunt Tamar (also dead by the time I came along) which I always thought was a nice name - although they called her Nanna!

Catherine Mary and Gertrude Mary; my dd is Catherine (not my biological child) and I only found out that my grandmother (who died when my father was 5, in 1933) was called Catherine once we'd chosen dd's name (she was always referred to as Mary); on DP's side there has been a Catherine in every generation since the 1770s...

Hilda (can't see that one coming back too soon :)) and Ellen (Nellie) who died when my dad was 16. Also had Great Aunty Flo (Florence) (grandmas's sister) and Aunty Bette who was my grandad's girlfriend as other "grannies".

Lilian, and Betty (not short for Elizabeth, she was the surprise baby after a few years gap, and one of the older sisters named her after a school friend who was Elizabeth nn Betty!)
