Anna / Hannah diminutives

Anna / Hannah are family names.

Not amazingly keen on either, but thinking of using a diminutive (perhaps as a middle name)

I love Anouk for example, but yet to convince DP!

Any suggestions gratefully received!

TIA :)

Oh forgot to add YABU

Anouk is not a diminutive of Anna/Hannah it's just another name with the letters A and N.... with that logic Alan would be acceptable...! (actually more so as there are 2 A's!)

Anne, Ann, Hanna

Mumsyblouse · 13/08/2012 18:40

The whole point of keeping a name in the family is to recognise the name/keep that sense of familiarity- no one is going to think Anouk is related to Anna/Hannah! If you don't like those names, fair enough, but if it's very important to you to use them, they have to be similar or the same- why not just add one as another middle name? It's not like Edna or something...

My mate wanted to call her child after her Mum who died when she was young

Her Mum's name was Anne (which she didn't particularly like) so she called her DD Kerrianne.

Why don't you try posting in the baby names section?
You might get more replies to both threads.
