Lisa - which above spelling do you prefer?

Napdamnyou · 08/08/2012 23:21

Leasarghhhhhh
might work...

Bluestocking · 08/08/2012 22:27

You lot are really not thinking outside the box here. How about L££$A?

MrTumblesSpottyBum · 08/08/2012 20:55

Reminds me of a holiday job - lovely guy who was dyslexic sat next to me, cold calling. He asked to speak to Lezzer, instead of Liza. She gave him a real earful, and he was mortified.

Trazzletoes · 08/08/2012 20:42

Incidentally, Lee (for a boy) is surely a cop-out... what's original about that spelling?! (wanders off muttering about the sexism in these names)

Trazzletoes · 08/08/2012 20:40

Apologies, Nit - got to be quicker than that!

manicinsomniac · 08/08/2012 18:51

Leesa

Napdamnyou · 08/08/2012 16:44

Or you could be a bit Welsh and have Llisa.
:)

IslaValargeone · 08/08/2012 16:39

Oh for the love of God, you cannot be serious?

spamm · 08/08/2012 16:38

Hahahahahaha - how about Llyghssa? I am sure nobody else has that one.

BelleTheOlympicBeatnik · 08/08/2012 16:38

Why don't you just spell it 'Troll'? A little more imagination would be nice, dear.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 08/08/2012 16:36

trazzle did the joke I was going to, god damn it!

MaryHansack · 08/08/2012 16:36

how about 'friedchickeneeshar'?

usualsuspect · 08/08/2012 16:35

Really?

Trazzletoes · 08/08/2012 16:34

How about J-a-n-e, pronounced Lisa?

PenisVanLesbian · 08/08/2012 16:31

I think I'd spell it "myparentsaremorons" personally.

TheDreadedFoosa · 08/08/2012 16:29

Sostressedsostressed - perhaps the reason you find yourself so very stressed is that you put unnecessary pressure on yourself to continually Make Up Shit On The Internet?

BonaDea · 08/08/2012 16:12

ROTFL

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. What if baby Lisa (sorry, Leesar) grows up to be a doctor or politician or lawyer. Won't she feel a bit stupid having a made up name?

sostressedsostressed · 08/08/2012 13:04

Hi mrsbabookaloo, yes I am the same lady who posted about my braidsmaid keeping fit to look and feel their best on my wedding day. I decided in the end not to appraoch the subject with them (due to the reaction on here!) but I have been very lucky that the heavest one has now dropped out due to travelling to visit her parents nearer to my wedding.

Anyway on topic, I think she is going with Leesar, the one you guys have agreed is better than the others. Had her baby been a boy she would have just gone with Lee! oh well, Leesar is better than the other two options!

LeeCoakley · 08/08/2012 13:04

I've decided one apostrophe not enough . L'eighsa'ar'h is my final contribution.

mrsbabookaloo · 08/08/2012 12:55

I note that you are the same lady who posted about her overweight bridesmaids, and leave others to make of that what they will.

Instead of following my instinct, I will gently point out that you may get a similar reaction to this thread. Of course, you may post about anything at all, but there is a prevailing opinion on mn that alternative spellings of traditional names are Not a Good Idea.

LeeCoakley · 08/08/2012 12:49

I'd probably go for L'eighsuh myself.

Ephiny · 08/08/2012 12:39

I think this must be a wind-up, but in case it's not - Leesa is probably the best of the three!

What about Liesa? Lise?

Smellyanne · 08/08/2012 12:39

pmsl thankyou for making me LOL ! nice one ! LEESIR ! ha ha !

YoulllWinGoldOneDay · 08/08/2012 12:32

Oh dear. Well then at least steer her something that stands a fighting chance of being pronounced correctly based on their regional accent then - I think that's the best you can do. She'll spend her life spelling it, but at least you can protect her from the worst odds of people reading it out incorrectly when written down.

Sirzy · 08/08/2012 12:31

Why do people feel the need to play with lovely names in such a way?
