bump is tiny, but thinking about names already!

She / he will be part Welsh, Scottish, Irish and English.

We like the more unusual names - to give you an idea, boys names we like include Inigo, Oisín and Taliesin.

I'm a bit stuck on girls names, I'd be grateful to hear any ideas!

TIA :)

Our baby will be half Scottish and I'm definitely liking Eilidh (although worried about it being a difficult-to-spell curse for her life!) and Iona already. DH not convinced. I can see this being a battle.

Scots boys names: Hamish, Magnus, Bruce, Callum, Fergus.

Personally I much prefer Scottish and Irish names to Welsh names, so how about -

Fionnuala (Finn/Nuala)
Eilidh
Aoife (although it's getting popular I think)
Catriona
Maeve
Ishbel
Iona

I love the boys' name Oisin but my favourite Celtic name is Fergus, I just love it!

Personally I find Orla and Niamh a bit tired, but know they are very popular in the UK.

Arana - Angharad unpronounceable? It's pronounced as it looks - Ang-ha-rad. The others are more difficult I agree.

Badgerina · 07/08/2012 08:32

Boudicca.

Arana · 07/08/2012 03:18

Ciara/Keira?

Lots of Welsh names are either unpronouncable (Angharad, Gwenllian, Llinos) or a bit naff (Nerys, Sioned, Nia, Delyth).

There are some that are lovely though - Elin, Enlli, Carys, Seren, Megan, Bethan.
