Do your worst - names that really DON'T work with the surname Green

I'm a Green, and it just isn't easy being a Green and trying to name a child.

Anything with the initial P is out,

Ta ta, Teresa!

Bethany? What, Bethnal?!

we've put so many names with our name and the pairings are laughable, but there must be more I have missed. So, go on, do your worst and help me rule a few out, while getting a laugh at the same time. TIA.

nearlythereyet - i think it makes it sound like you're trying to make a word - which I suppose is okay if you are trying to make a word (like make an animal or dinosaur name )

AngryFeet · 08/08/2012 17:10

Sorry I don't get the Vince Green one - what?

OxfordBags · 08/08/2012 17:05

The actress Eva Green's father is Swedish and her name is actually pronounced Ava Grurn (my cousin is a make-artist who has worked with her).

SheilaWheeler · 08/08/2012 15:29

Vince Green - ha! Took me a while to work it out but I got there in the end!!

nearlythereyet · 08/08/2012 15:21

Sorry I think I'm being thick, why don't the -a names work, nickel? I'm saying Anna Green in my head again and again and not seeing the issue.

Eva Green, on the other hand... But isn't there an actress called that?

OP, how about Hunter? Teal? Myrtle?

LordOfThe5Rings · 07/08/2012 19:13

Anything ending in -gan (Tegan, Megan, Logan).

I've just realised though that I know two P Greens, and a Hazel Green and a Christine Green, none of which had bothered me before this!

I just want to have a laugh among the baby naming arguments TBH vol. Loving Vince Green Grin I will share this with my SIL, another Green who's having a miserable pregnancy and needs a giggle.

I did not know Chloe meant green, that's a veto then!

How about you tell us some names you like OP, and we'll let you know if we can think of any problems?
