Is Helen too old fashioned?

Not heard any Helen's for about 20 years! Is it suitable for a baby or do you think everyone would think I was from the dark ages!

I am 33 and I have 6 Helens in my phone of a similar age to me. They are all lovely. I think it's lovely and I think it would get a good reaction from people.

Weird really, when I think of all the other names from my generation - Nicola, Karen, Joanne etc. Helen seems less strongly attached to the age group than those do, despite how many I know!

Was top of our list for DD but in the end we decided another name suited her better. I love it. Helena also lovely.

A lovely classic name, of course it is suitable for a baby and your child will be an adult for an awful lot longer than they are a child for anyway.

I have taught KS1 for fourteen years and have never taught a Helen. Go for it-but obviously without any apostrophes ;)
