I really like this with the middle name Elena or Emma (swaying slightly more towards Elena.)
I like it because it's not popular but not unheard of. Dh 'quite likes it' but can't decide.

What does everyone else think?

Love it.

What other nicknames are there?

Read a book once where a Felicity was called 'cici' but never knew how it would be pronounced (Kissy? Sissy? Sea-sea?)

Whitershadeofpale · 01/08/2012 17:18

I like it but hate all the associated nns.

VolAuVent · 01/08/2012 17:13

Lissie is a nice nickiname :)

minipie · 01/08/2012 17:08

I like it but do associate it with women of my mother's generation (it's a friend's mother's name)

Liss is a nice nn

remaincalm · 01/08/2012 14:54

My DD is Felicity, nn Lissie. I was worried about the nicknames she would get. My family and friends call her Lissie or Liss most of the time. Nobody ever calls her Flick, Fliss, Floss etc.

MaidenDevon · 01/08/2012 14:11

My Felicity is 2 tomorrow. Only ever had nice reactions about her name apart from MIL who visibly recoiled in horror and asked if we were kidding (persuaded all the more it was a fine name if MIL hated it). MN is Violet. We're not pony club types at all, we go on all inclusive holidays to Majorca!

Her nn is Fliss Floss or Miss Fliss. Never met one under 30. We have a sea of Ava's, Eva's, Olivia's and Grace's in our circle of friends, all lovely names just over used.

pigletpower · 01/08/2012 01:26

We have a Felicity Faith aged 3 who calls herself Sissy! I hate the NN Flick and usually call her Flissy or Floss. My dad calls her Filly.

duchesse · 31/07/2012 23:18

Twizzle, DD is Flea (short for Fleecy, which is the closest 21 mo DS could get to saying her name when she was born). Nicer than Flick imo which is what her friends call her.

twizzlestix · 31/07/2012 22:34

Another thumbs up here, it's on our list but I dislike all the associated nn :(

MDM · 31/07/2012 22:24

Could be shortened to Fliss?

manicinsomniac · 31/07/2012 22:02

I love it. My Mum wanted to call me Felicity but my Dad said it was too fancy Sad

I know 2 - one is about 30 and the other is 12 and one of the most gorgeous kids I know.

MammaTonic · 31/07/2012 20:56

That's fine, I take it with good humour. It just didn't translate well - context can blur online. I wasn't taking any moral high ground, either :)

Sarcalogos · 31/07/2012 20:00

I was going for amused with a touch of humour.

Think it's difficult to take the moral high ground when discussing neighbours isn't it? Wink

Sorry for the diversion OP, Felicity is a lovely name.

MammaTonic · 31/07/2012 19:02

Sarcalogos don't know if it was intended to, but your big capital lettered AND looked quite arsey!

Nancyclancy · 31/07/2012 16:27

Thanks for your replies. It's the name that stands out from all the rest ( to me.) Other names crop up but I always go back to Felicity.

Just got to convince dh that it's the right one Grin

Lovely name, I know a 9/10 year old Felicity and she's lovely.

Sarcalogos · 31/07/2012 16:20

Love it and also love NN flick. (yep AND I watched neighbours).

I knew one who went by 'floss' as a teenager that was quite cool at the time too.

squoosh · 31/07/2012 16:18

I used to love that 90's American series called Felicity about a girl going to college in NYC.

She had great hair and a gorgeous boyfriend.

MammaTonic · 31/07/2012 16:12

Argh! Not "mento" but "me to"! I'm honestly not this dippy all the time!

MammaTonic · 31/07/2012 16:10

Fucking iPhone, that last post what pretty indecipherable. Allow mento translate: "I'm not keen" no 'way' but "watch" Blush

MammaTonic · 31/07/2012 16:08

It's a gorgeous name but in not kern on the NN Flick! (Anyone else way watch 'Neighbours' in the late 1990s?) I do like NNs Liss, Lissy, Fliss.

Love it.

VolAuVent · 31/07/2012 12:58

Very nice name.

Don't like the nicknames Flick/Fliss/Fizz though.

squoosh · 31/07/2012 11:26

Pony club

AKMD · 31/07/2012 10:56

Love it.
