It's not that I don't like it...it's OK!!!!

FWIW, I don't like my own name much, but get a bit Sad when it's slated on the baby names threads.

NaturalNatures · 21/07/2012 18:01

Sorry Summer/Annie Wink

mamadiva · 21/07/2012 17:59

I always liked it and my friends dd is called summer although she is constantly being asked when she was born (i.e summer)

Yeah not keen really. I think it's a bit... 1990s Australian soap opera.

NaturalNatures · 21/07/2012 14:46

Weirdly, I really like Autumn Confused but none of the other seasons as names

LynetteScavo · 21/07/2012 14:25

Nothing's wrong with Ethan (or Tyler or Summer) - I just think of them as typically American/ Australian, beach type names.

shimmy0 · 21/07/2012 14:18

What's wrong with Ethan?

DawnOfTheDee · 21/07/2012 13:42

I love the name Summer! Smile

(and prefer Geoff to Jeff but that's cos it's my dad's name so i'm biased!)

LynetteScavo · 21/07/2012 13:40

I like the name Jeff (but weirdly not Geof Confused) Grin

OK, but a bit American/Australian for me. I imagine her brothers would be called Tyler and Ethan.

like the name Summer, its on my baby name list even though it might sound funny with my partners surname (Stone) lol, doesnt have to be born in the summer either!

SheilaWheeler · 21/07/2012 08:14

Princess - I know what you mean, I knew an April who was born in July. It seemed wrong somehow.

PrincessOfChina · 21/07/2012 08:11

I like Summer. But only if the child is born in the summer.

Ditto, Holly (but only at Christmas), Autumn (but only in Autumn), May (but only in May). You get my drift. Drives me crackers.

EdithWeston · 21/07/2012 08:09

It's not a name I like, but I think it's perfectly OK as a name - I know one aged 11ish (it was. "Home and Away" name then!) and it works fine.

SheilaWheeler · 21/07/2012 08:08

I know a Summer - its a lovely name but can be confusing when we are talking about seasons! We have to talk about 'in the summer-time' and wearing 'summer-time clothes' if you see what I mean

MammaTonic · 21/07/2012 08:05

A part of me likes it, but a part of me thinks it's a bit of a 'New Age' or hippy name. There's nothing wrong with hippies but I think it may give the child minor problems with others' initial perceptions of them.

I really am divided in my opinion of this name.

What about Haf (pronounced havv), which is the welsh word for summer? Or Hafwen, fair summer?

UnnamedFemaleProtagonist · 21/07/2012 07:55

I don't like it at all.

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 21/07/2012 07:49

I like it :)
