Forrest or Jasper
DC3 is due in less than 2 weeks and we are still undecided on names, for a girl we have either Blossom or Meadow but we're can't agree on boys...... I don't want a baby with no name.....Confused

OP posts:

Jasper is the best of a god awful bunch. Listen to Stellan. Meadow, Forrest and Blossom are just silly. Give them as a middle name if you must. Oh and good luck with your new LO :)

almapudden · 17/07/2012 09:51

I like Jasper.

littlemissbroody26 · 17/07/2012 09:50

I really like jasper! not so kean on forrest, love blossom and meadow, maybe you could give them a more formal middle name if they do find themselfs in the situation where they want/need a more formal name?

AnAirOfHope · 17/07/2012 09:49

I like Jasper and Blossom but i like Mai-Blossom or May Blossom as a middle name as well.

Forrest is ok but i think more of a girls name than a boys. Meadow just isnt a name for me but if you like it thats all that counts.

Congrats on baby

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 17/07/2012 09:46

I rather think I channelled all my hatred for the Baby Names topic into the one post. Sorry OP Blush

EugenesAxe · 17/07/2012 09:42

Not Forrest... Whittaker - dodgy eyed bloke who likes playing African despots? No.

Like Astr0naut Jasper is slang for wasp in my family but not too offensive otherwise.

Your girls names are a bit Hmm... but having recently seen a nursery name tag with 'Rain' written on it, you will have company. I think Meadow is slightly preferable.

AnnaNimitty · 17/07/2012 09:41

Forrest Gump, Jasper Carrott - nuff said. I think Lee means meadow, and
no one thinks thats particularly odd. Blossom is nice but could be embarrassing.

What are your other DC called?
I like Jasper, wasn't he one of the Three Wise Men?
Blossom reminds me of that programme of same name with Mayim Bialik, or my purple My Little Pony. I'd go for Willow over Meadow, "Med" as a nickname wouldn't appeal.

buzzgirly · 17/07/2012 09:37

I like Meadow, but have been watching The Sopranos recently! I don't really like either of the boys names - sorry

AnnaNimitty · 17/07/2012 09:34

Sirzy · 17/07/2012 09:29

The only one on your list i like is jasper.

Astr0naut · 17/07/2012 09:28

I like Jasper, but I've only ever heard it on cats. Round here it's a nicknam for wasps too.

everythingItryisinuse · 17/07/2012 09:28

So why is no one singling out JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar about her REALLY nasty post? Offensive stuff.

sparkle12mar08 · 17/07/2012 09:28

I rather like Forrest but I prefer it spelt like the actual natural environment - Forest. I also quite like Jasper, it sounds a little bit feminine to my ear but it's still a fine name. Ignore the truly nasty posts, they're nasty for the sake of it.

wolvesdidit · 17/07/2012 09:28

All gorgeous!

AnnaFender · 17/07/2012 09:24

Woah, responses are a bit harsh! I know a little Meadow and her parents are very naice respectable non hippys (although they are vegetarian!) I don't think any of those names are that strange amongst current trends.

Jasper is not my style but agree that the Forrest Gump connection puts me off Forrest so Jasper wins. Blossom and Meadow are both nice, I like Summer too. .

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 17/07/2012 09:23

I get unreasonably angry when people get twatty over other people's name choices Grin

LimeLeafLizard · 17/07/2012 09:21

And I agree with manic too! A brother and sister called Forest and Meadow would cause a lot of giggles!

LimeLeafLizard · 17/07/2012 09:19

Jasper is a fine name, popular in Holland and especially Denmark.

Personally I think I'd think a bit more about the girls names, maybe use Blossom as a middle name?

manicinsomniac · 17/07/2012 09:19

I'm not keen on blossom but like all the others.

However, if you go for Forest or Meadow, don't use the other name if you go on to have the other sex of child in a year or two. You couldn't have a Forest AND a meadow!

valiumredhead · 17/07/2012 09:18

I know a Forrest but she's a girl - really suits her.

I love the name Meadow ( watched too many Sopranos Wink)

Jasper - not so keen on, have known a few.

seeker · 17/07/2012 09:17

Well, the op did say what do you really think!

For what it's worth, I think both the girl's names are not really suitable for an adult woman.

And if you're going to go for Forrest, I'd drop the second r- it'll just be confusing. And Jasper is always "oh, Sir Jasper......" to me.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 17/07/2012 09:13

Oh do fuck off, name wankers. Angry

I would go with Jasper and Meadow. Jasper over Forrest mainly because of the Gump connection (which is too strong). Or what about Sylvain?

No idea why I prefer Meadow to Blossom, but I do.
Jasper and Meadow are very sweet names. If anyone starts muttering about High Court judges, kick them in the shins.

propercharlie · 17/07/2012 09:09

Like Jasper and Blossom.

Don't think you could have forrest and meadow together though!!!
