It's on our shortlist but DH thinks it will become really popular because of twilight and as a twi-hater that has really put me off !!

Just wondering if it really is popular . I don't know any personally , but know of one born in 2010 .

Round here along with Noah!! It's everywhere.

LOADS in the 15 - 20 age group, but then a steady lower number from teens down. They are about in Nurseries, but not in massive numbers, IME.

Badgerina · 11/07/2012 22:47

I know this one Jacob, he's a shapeshifting wolf-boy...

Kidding - its a lovely name. Popular. There are a couple of under 5s that I know of.

Claire2009 · 11/07/2012 22:43

Yes, one in DS's class (so 5yo), one in DD's class (6yo), and my cousin (15yo)

LadyWidmerpool · 11/07/2012 22:41

At least three under 5

birdofthenorth · 11/07/2012 22:40

I only know one who's 3. I couple of just Jakes in DD's nursery though. Really nice names.

WillowTheWitch · 11/07/2012 22:36

I know quite a few. It is the number one boys name over the last 10 years in America. There are a lot of them under 10 in the world as a whole. It's a good name.

elliebug · 11/07/2012 19:10

My jacob is 12 weeks, OH picked his name and we totally didn't realise the twilight connection till it was too lateBlush he is known as jake (like one of the tweenies which is much cooler IMO!!) everyone will have forgotten about twilight before too long!

Catsu · 11/07/2012 19:07

Yes loads!

sweetkitty · 11/07/2012 19:06

Our Jacob is 2, only know another one aged 8.

Lovely name have had a few oh after Twilight, I just look bemused no after the old testament! Apparently it means supplanter, one who takes the place of another

noblegiraffe · 11/07/2012 19:05

I'm a secondary teacher and Jacob is pretty popular although most shorten it to Jake.

monstermissy · 11/07/2012 19:00

My 15 year old is the only Jacob I know of :)

SilveryMoon · 11/07/2012 18:57

my 4yo is called Jacob. We chose it because I'd not come across anyone by that name, now I hear it everywhere.
Is a lovely name, go for it.

Ponyclubmum · 11/07/2012 18:56

There's lots round here. When DS starts school there will be 3 in his year. Still a lovely name though.

ISpyPlumPie · 11/07/2012 18:55

I have a two year-old one. Only come across one other who was about 18 months older than DS

TheOneWithTheHair · 11/07/2012 18:53
