Roman has got very popular here. Bit 'try hard' for my taste.

Jonah is OK.

ValentineBombshell · 14/07/2012 19:35

Always thought given Jonah survived being eaten by a whale he was rather lucky. Plus you can sing Jonah Man Jazz to him Wink

EBDTeacher · 14/07/2012 19:30

Think they would be great together as first and middle. Jonah Roman X- ace.

SilveryMoon · 14/07/2012 19:25

Jonah. I wanted it for ds2 but already had a Jacob and dp thought it'd be too much but LOVE it.

thebetachimp · 14/07/2012 19:24

It's a shame, as Roman has all sorts of other positive connotations.

Fiveflowers · 14/07/2012 19:24

Roman is lovely. Sorry, I've never liked Jonah.

If you've changed your mind about Roman - what about Rowan?

weaselm4 · 14/07/2012 19:21

I was going to mention Polanski too, beta. Don't think I know any Jonahs, and most people don't seem to mind about the meaning anyway now. I think it's a nice name.

WillowTheWitch · 14/07/2012 19:17

The beckhams son is Romeo . Oh roman Polanski mmm that has put me off it a bit now . I doubt I would have convinced DH on roman anyway .

Roman is a nice enough name, but it makes my think of Roman Polanski. Not a good association.

BikeRunSki · 14/07/2012 19:12

I'd immediately associate Roman with Beckham.

Love Jonah though. I only know one, he's about 14.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 14/07/2012 18:59

Love Jonah. Roman is pretentious .

Madeyemoodysmum · 14/07/2012 18:58

Love Jonah but dh wouldn't have it

BellaBearisWideAwake · 13/07/2012 18:37

I have a Jonah and (obv) adore the name. I ignore the bad meaning. Although I would prefer it if a friend didn't repeatedly post on FB that she was 'having a jonah day' (quote from Anne of Green Gables)

SoleSource · 13/07/2012 18:34

I know one Roman. He is in his fifties and well fit! Posh wealthy guy in London. I'd never heard of the name before 2008.

bamboozledAardvark · 13/07/2012 18:20

Is it hypoxia?! I've never met a Roman round 'ere.

Cheriefroufrou · 13/07/2012 17:52

Jonah

WillowTheWitch · 13/07/2012 17:52

I'm in the west of Scotland and names here are generally different the mumsnet rule . A few times I've saw people describe a name as very popular but I don't know or know of anyone called it .

Jonah is a byword for "jinx"

hypoxia · 13/07/2012 17:47

North Yorks :)

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 13/07/2012 17:46

Love Jonah!

WillowTheWitch · 13/07/2012 17:46

Where are you hypo ?

OP posts:
hypoxia · 13/07/2012 17:41

Roman is a bit 'chavvy' round here, Jonah sounds more fresh :)

SoleSource · 13/07/2012 17:03

Roman

WillowTheWitch · 13/07/2012 16:56

Which do you think would be least popular ?
