For a friends pfb. Middle name Anne.

What do you think? Which do you prefer?

Thanks.

honestly?

There will always be people who will look down on her for that sort of name, and who will make assumptions about her based on it.

The awful and insulting 'chav' label may be thrown about. People can be like that. It's wrong, but it's true.

I like Kezia. My great aunt was called that. Kia (k-eye-ah) for short. (I am fairly sure she was a Kezia. Am dragging it out of long term memory storage Grin we always called her auntie Kia)

ChunkysMum · 08/07/2012 19:35

She's coming over later. Does anyone have any suggestions that you think she may like? Baring in mind her naming style.

I was going to suggest Lillia?

I would hope no one would pick or look down on her. in reality she will probably just get called one name and as singles they are not bad names at all, like the idea for kezia for kizzy.

I was at a play centre today and 2 kids having parties had hyphens.

Personally, I'm just not a big fan of them.

I prefer all those names to the bloody awful old/man lady names that are so loved on mn.

But I know I'm in the minority.

SpringHeeledJack · 08/07/2012 19:34

Kizzy's quite nice

only on its own, though

I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH

Grin
MulberryMoon · 08/07/2012 19:34

What about Lilyleigh or Kizzilexi ?

EnjoyResponsibly · 08/07/2012 19:33

Lily-May is the least worst.

The other two are just stupid, made up, badly spelled and stupid.

HeadfirstForRomance · 08/07/2012 19:32

If her surname were Hayes, she would be (Lily) may Anne Hays - Mayonnaise! Grin

MrsApplepants · 08/07/2012 19:32

Sorry, don't like any of them. Lily - May is ok at a push.

PerryCombover · 08/07/2012 19:32

Do you reside in the Appalachians?

MulberryMoon · 08/07/2012 19:31

Lily May, although I would prefer Lily on its own.

TodaysAGoodDay · 08/07/2012 19:31

None. I can't stand hyphenated names. On their own Lily and Leigh are nice, but the others are not. Just my own opinion like.

usualsuspect · 08/07/2012 19:31

mnetters will look down on them.

HeadfirstForRomance · 08/07/2012 19:31

Lily Anne as first and second name, no double barrelling.

Lilly-May Anne sounds silly, and that's the best of the three.

Anna May is nice?

FellatioNelson · 08/07/2012 19:31

Are these sorts of names really THAT disliked?

Er...well it sort of depends who you ask. But around these parts I'd say yes. Grin

mumzy · 08/07/2012 19:30

Kizzy could be short for Kezia which is nice. Agree Lily May is the best out of the list but it is very common in not a good way

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 08/07/2012 19:30

Child will probably be looked down on, yes. There's not a lot you can do about that though. People judge, 'tis not right but they do.

kilmuir · 08/07/2012 19:30

Yuk. Be a good friend and tell her they are trashy and horrid

FellatioNelson · 08/07/2012 19:29

Lily May is done to death, Kizzie is pretty but Kizzie-Leigh Anne is just naff. Lexi is pretty (but common now) and Lexi-Jean is naff. They all just sound trailer trashy.

Jeannie is sweet though.

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 08/07/2012 19:28

Shock erm, shall try to be constructive. Is hard.

Without the hyphen, the least offensive would probably be Lily May Anne.

Alexis Jean nn Lexi? Anne really isn't going to work after Jean.

If she MUST have a hyphen how about Anne-Marie or Mari-anne? The proper versions would be infinitely preferable but at least these sound OK until you see them written down.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 08/07/2012 19:28

Lily-May if I was forced to make a choice

ChunkysMum · 08/07/2012 19:28

It will be hyphenated although I will probably drop the second hyphenated name when talking to baby and there's no chance she'll like Anne as a name.

She hates my pfb's name (would never say so but it's obvious) and it made me a little sad at first so am trying to be open minded about her ideas.

Are these sorts of names really THAT disliked? There seem to be quite a few like this about. Friend's dd won't get picked on or looked down on will she?

FellatioNelson · 08/07/2012 19:26

They are all hideous.

MamaGeekChic · 08/07/2012 19:24

Was Kizzy not the name of the young mum on that bbc3 'documentary'?
