Nancy is a very sweet name, I think. Enjoy her :)

Your Mum was gutted??

Oh dear Lord-some people need to get over themselves!

MrsJohnDeere · 12/07/2012 06:17

Good choice - that's a lovely name.

Your mum will come round in time.

NoComet · 12/07/2012 02:13

Naomi because she was DD1s buddy in starting school, she was lovely and 10 years later she still says says Hi.

Fimbo · 11/07/2012 23:57

Nancy is a lovely name. I know another mumsnetter who has a dd with this name.

My mum told my cousin she couldn't possible name her child Frankie, it was to be this boy or girl. My cousin didn't listen to her and Frankie (boy) is now 18. Don't think my mother has ever gotten over. But it is nothing to do with her, silly old bat.

Oh I LOVE Nancy.....

Don't give your mother a second thought with regards to your DD's name.

Enjoy all those lovely new born cuddles Smile

yasmin85 · 11/07/2012 19:24

Ella is a lovely name too.

minipie · 11/07/2012 19:16

I really like Alexandra, Naomi and Louisa

It's hard when your mum dislikes a name isn't it? I have the same issue... In theory her views shouldn't matter but in practice I don't want her thinking "horrid name" whenever she sees her DGD!

melliebobs · 11/07/2012 18:21

Nancy is a lovely name

But I'm biase as that's my 18 wk old DD's name

tclint · 11/07/2012 18:19

Have you decided yet?

MildredIsMyAlterEgo · 10/07/2012 23:17

Ooh ooh go with Alexandra, Ola for short (pronounced Olla). Job done Smile

Congratulations btw

amck5700 · 10/07/2012 23:10

Anastasia (tasia or nancy for short)?

SrirachaGirl · 10/07/2012 23:08

Congrats! How exciting! Claudia is gorgeous and I think Nancy is too Smile.

alicethehorse · 10/07/2012 23:06

Good luck!

Nancy was originally a medieval diminutive of Annis, just in case that's any help!
