Which Name do you Hate Most?

I hate the name Jane; I'm not saying it's the ugliest name in the world, by a long way (that's probably Griselda), but because of associations. Firstly, it was the name of the most horrible bully at my secondary school; and now, also, there's the Inbetweeners movie, in which the gorgeous Jay gets paired up with a fat plain Jane who is not cute enough for him!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Your name, OP, and that of your horrible children. Don't know what it is, just reminds me of bad things and people.

Disappointed that no one has mentioned DDs name yet. We were aiming for slightly unusual......come on people, someone must hate it! Grin

I dislike most 'ie' names, particularly: Maisie, Milly, Evie, Alfie, Charlie.

Almost all hyphenated names.

The Brayden, Jayden, Shayden collective (Aiden is ok.)

Any name that dates or is overly trendy: Eva, Olivia, Isla, Oliver, Noah, Jacob, anything with 'belle' in it.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 30/06/2012 00:07

Wow, that's mine and my two DDs names that are 'hate hate hated'. Just waiting for DH and I've got the full set. Lovely.

BonnieBumble · 29/06/2012 23:24

Or even Haitch. Blush

I am drinking wine and taking the piss out of the naice people is not so fun now.

usualsuspect · 29/06/2012 23:23

Yes you are right H is a bit tricky

ScrambledSmegs · 29/06/2012 23:21

My DD's nickname has come up several times. I'm not bovvered. I love her and I love her name.

BonnieBumble · 29/06/2012 23:21

Not if you pronounce it Aitch (shudders at the thought of the plebs getting it wrong).

ByTheSea · 29/06/2012 23:20

I don't like names with a 'th' in them. Seth, Heather, etc.

usualsuspect · 29/06/2012 23:19

H perhaps? H is a posh letter I reckon

BonnieBumble · 29/06/2012 23:19

What initial do naice middle class people have?

C Or

U or

N or

T perhaps?

They are naice letters,

Mollydoggerson · 29/06/2012 23:18

By the way I am Irish so I'm allowed not to like some Irish ones.

usualsuspect · 29/06/2012 23:15

Don't get me started on the names that begin with B , they will never grow up to be lawyers you mark my words

BonnieBumble · 29/06/2012 23:07

I can't stand names that begin with the following letters:-

W A N K E R S

I wouldn't even waste my spit on people with those initials. What were their parents thinking?

Mollydoggerson · 29/06/2012 22:55

Donna
Kathleen

Liam
Niall

Iseult
Iona - Any new found Irish names. Pretentious Irish ones, Carrig.

SpeckleDust · 29/06/2012 22:50

Dislike Kevin and Wayne for boys - just sound a bit wanky.

Not as bothered about girl's names. Maybe the ones that went with the above boys names when I was growing up - Sharon and Tracey.

Mine nor my DDs have come up yet....but I think one would be termed 'shortened variation of a 'proper' name' and the other 'made up' (but they are both actually family names - great aunts/grandmas).

PrisonerOfWaugh · 29/06/2012 22:44

usualsuspect · 29/06/2012 22:33

I love the letter S though , it's so curly

usualsuspect · 29/06/2012 22:32

I hate any name beginning with the letter T , It's such a stupid letter

ellesabe · 29/06/2012 22:30
