Do you think Loli works as a nn for Florence?

Loli doesn't have much in common with the name Florence IMHO.

Flo or flossie

PoppyWearer · 27/06/2012 22:20

I had two very lovely Great-Aunt Florries.

If DS had been a DD, he would have been a Florence, nn Florrie.

Tangointhenight · 27/06/2012 22:19

What about Lorrie?

poppydaisy · 27/06/2012 22:13

I wouldn't shorten Florence at all, but Lolly isn't great, sorry.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 27/06/2012 21:55

Flossie is much nicer.

Tangointhenight · 27/06/2012 20:40

My nan was Florence, she got Florrie which is pretty, Loli not so much.

Fanny

Loli (or lolly) is something you eat. Not a good nn IMHO. My neighbour's daughter is Florence, and gets called CiCi (pronounced Cee Cee). That's quite cute.

HolyCameraConfusionBatman · 27/06/2012 20:25

Lo-lee or Lolly?

I think they're both awful tbh and a bit pointless when you've got a lovely name like Florence to start with. It's no worse as a nn for Florence than it would be for any other name though.
