I really like Kyle. I think it has a nice sound, and I love the Scottish connections as I'm a big fan of Scottish names.
The Kyle I know is lovely, and not at all 'chavvy'.

Which unpopular names do you love?

I was nearly named Poppy... I would of prefered it.... but then I can't imagine a 43 yr old Poppy... or Daisy

steppemum · 23/06/2012 23:49

sebastian sounds gay because of Brideshead Revisited (now I have just shown how ancient I am)
But I love it too

I wanted Poppy and Daisy, my dh wouldn't even consider it, and then jamie Oliver used them both

joanofarchitrave · 23/06/2012 23:46

Martha? Really? But that's not unusual!

jellytotsandcolabottles · 23/06/2012 23:40

Martha. I LOVE it, anyone I told I was going to call my child it laughed their heads off :(

creativepebble · 23/06/2012 23:37

Love the name Spike.

Tabitha's a cat's name though.

Whiteworm · 23/06/2012 22:41

I know a 3 mo Belinda. It is lovely.

I like Bridie and Dolly

muminthecity · 23/06/2012 22:41

I have always adored the name Jayden for a boy. Wouldn't use it now as it seems to have negative connotations, but I still love it.

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 23/06/2012 22:39

Stacey, so glad I am not the only one! And Tiffany, loved the character in Wee Free Men. :)

ShowOfHands · 23/06/2012 22:37

I have a Raphael. I started a thread whilst pregnant with him and the responses were 100% positive. I get lots and lots of lovely comments about his name.

PotteringAlong · 23/06/2012 22:35

Enid
Maud
Dora

DH thought I was picking them to deliberately annoy him!

Oh I love Dixie too - the lead singer of Kings of Leon and his wife have just had a Dixie...I think Anna Ryder Richardson has one too

LB1982 · 23/06/2012 20:21

I absolutely love the name Winter for a girl but when I mentioned it to family members when I was pregnant (baby due December so I thought it quite apt), they looked at me like i'd beheaded a brood of ducklings in front of their mother duck!!

missmiss · 23/06/2012 20:13

I like Bruno and Cosima! I teach a lovely Cosimo, so it (and therefore the female version) has good connotations for me.

cakeismysaviour · 23/06/2012 20:08

Bruno.

I am hoping that I may be allowed to use it if DC2 is a boy. :)

scarlettsmummy2 · 23/06/2012 20:07

Araminta. I haven't met anyone else that likes it and would have loved to call my daughter it.

jaffacakehips · 23/06/2012 20:05

I love Dixie.

Cosima but everyone seems to hate it.

mylittleprincess3455 · 23/06/2012 20:04

Otto - i love this name.
