Thank you `Mners you have been really helpful (and a little mean... but that is understandable) We have now settled on Domini for a girl (well Dh has anyway) Now for a middle name with a surname that rhymes with pickle.?

Dominie is a lovely, lovely name. It is unusual, but not wierd or hard to pronounce. It is very pretty.

Problem solved. Grin

serin · 23/06/2012 00:16

Dominie is sweet.

bouncysmiley · 22/06/2012 20:44

I quite like it! She'd definately be the only one in the class!

RabidAnchovy · 22/06/2012 16:27

Only thing I think of is pizza

Tessa617 · 22/06/2012 16:25

It is kinda cute...but the first thing I thought of was "Bond girl". But I do oddly like it (and the nn "Minnow").

flipflopper · 22/06/2012 12:13

No, dont like it sorry

RabidAnchovy · 22/06/2012 12:13

No just NO

gnushoes · 22/06/2012 12:10

Please give her a real name that won't raise eyebrows every time she meets someone new or applies for a job. She's a cute baby for a year. One day she'll be an adult trying to earn her own living.

MrClaypole · 22/06/2012 11:56

Domino? Magic? Really? Those are ridiculous names to saddle a child with.

You need to find a name that works for a baby, child and an adult, and you need to consider that the adult may want a name that sounds professional for their career.

As suggested above, Nikita is nice

Or type the names you like into Nymbler.com and see what it suggests.

PercyFilth · 22/06/2012 11:55

Madge?

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 22/06/2012 11:46

Hopefully you are taking the piss though Bear.

ThatllDoPig · 22/06/2012 11:46

I know a little girl called Dominy and think its lovely.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 22/06/2012 11:45

My DD has an unusual name although it is a proper name. What I am trying to say that I am all for uniqueness (well as far as you can be unique in regards to names) but you are set on making your DC's life a misery! Try saying the name out loud imagining you call her in the park, to the table and then you'll see how forced Magic is.

keepthechangeyoufilthyanimal · 22/06/2012 11:40

No, sorry. How about Dominique with Domino as a NN?

Blatherskite · 22/06/2012 11:40

As much as I think Domino is an awful name, it is infinitely preferable to Magic!

Frontpaw · 22/06/2012 11:24

Dominica

there you go

smokeandglitter · 22/06/2012 11:24

I've never heard anyone use the term 'Domino' for vagina, surely it depends where you come from? Urban Dictionary has loads of terms which are really not common slang on it.

I think it's quite cute. Domonique is quite nice too. To be honest it doesnt matter what we think, it's your choice. Smile I'd never ask for opinions on my favourite names, most mumsnetters wouldn't like them which I don't mind at all because me and DP do.

lottiegb · 22/06/2012 11:21

Domino is much better than Magic, at least it's a name. Makes some sense as a feminine of Dominic.

MissRepresentation · 22/06/2012 11:13

well, yeah, but someone is actually considering lumbering a kid for life with a name like Magic. Being similarly lumbered, I can tell you they won't be laughing much.

Frontpaw · 22/06/2012 11:08

Being a Bond Girl, she probably came to a sticky end.

What about 'Magestic'? There, problem solved.

Maryvivienne · 22/06/2012 11:00

Domino is a ridiculous name. Dominique isn't too bad I suppose.

squeaver · 22/06/2012 10:58

My mistake, she was a bounty hunter played by bag of bones Knightley.

BuntyPenfold · 22/06/2012 10:57

I thought it was a lighthearted thread MissRepresentation
