is this name TOO unusual?

My dh has got his heart set on it but i am worried she may get picked on. it is Domino for a girl.
what do you think?

I think River is lovely, for a boy or a girl.

Domino is ridiculous, sorry, as is Magic. Domini slightly better but wouldn't be my choice...

Grimma- to me Gray sounds very elegant and sophisticated, makes me think of Breakfast at Tiffanys.

What about Gray? It's unusual without being silly and would be a halfway house between the back and white of a domino.

This whole thread was discussing my Dh's choice though curry I am sure we will come to the right decision eventually. Although there are many ery unusual names i love i do not think it would be fair to name baby something to ott because i do not want them to get bullied for it etc but at the sma time i really don't wan tthem to have a boring run of the mill name just because we didn't have the guts to name them what we really liked.

curry Of course i have a choice i think that is quite a stupid question really. Personally i do like Olivia and Macy but Olivia especially is very very popular at the moment and i definatley do not want a name that there are two or three of in her class. Plus i don't think they would go vey well with my Dd's name whih is quite unusual (not overly so) but has a pretty common middle name to balance it out abit. Anyway for a boy we quite like Darwin and Elton or dare i say it River.... What are your thoughts on these?

I don't know, I think your taste is difficult for me to guess. Pick something you love, on the assumption that it won't be used so you can be as outrageous as you like. Or, go for Susan or other sensible name in case she doesn't like the first one.

The problem with Domini is that people may want to pronounce it the same as in Anno Domini that is with a hard 'i' sound at the end rather that an 'ee' sound.

I don't think anyone could mispronounce Dominie though?

The only Domini I know has no E, and she's pretty famous. And if you're using it with a idea to the latin, there is no E. I wouldn't add one.
