Hi all,
OH and I really keen on using Esther as a middle name for personal reasons but we arent sure if our fave first name- Seren- really "goes" with it. I quite like that both names mean "Star" as this is just coincindental but not sure about the sounds together. What do you all think?

How about Seren Dippity?

smother · 25/06/2012 21:13

what about Ada?

Sorry, I shouldn't joke. I think Seren and Esther are both absolutely beautiful names.

aGog1 · 24/06/2012 19:46

I'd go with Esther- Seren is one of the most popular girls' names in Wales at the moment.

johnnycomelurky · 24/06/2012 19:44

I really like it too Smile

shockers · 24/06/2012 19:40

I do too.

wild · 24/06/2012 19:36

i really really like it

Stellan · 24/06/2012 19:34

It sounds like Sarah Nestor, not Seren Esther, to me if I say it aloud.

Both are lovely names though! I'd use Esther Seren or, if that's not possible, stick an extra name between Seren & Esther.

FrillyMilly · 24/06/2012 01:43

It reminds me of Cirencester too.

PercyFilth · 23/06/2012 22:39

Serin is a little bird, yes?

Seren Esther makes me think of 'La Serenissima' (Venice)

(I prefer Serena to Seren - it would be awkward with Esther though.)

SchrodingersMew · 23/06/2012 01:50

I actually know someone with a DD named "Seren", in fact I mentioned it on a name thread on here recently. It's a beautiful name and I'm pretty sure they are always getting compliments for it.

bouncysmiley · 22/06/2012 21:08

Seren is a beautiful name

birdofthenorth · 21/06/2012 14:12

Esther Seren flows much better. If you really want Esther as the middle name how about Seren Something Esther Surname, with a short extra name to seperate them? I think they do sound like Sere Nester together, sorry

Bucharest · 21/06/2012 10:56

Said together it sounds like the latest peoplecarrier/pseudo Italian ice cream.

I know Seren has a lovely meaning, and is Welsh etc etc but it always just sounds very harsh to me.

I love Esther though.

ginghamfish · 21/06/2012 10:54

Esther is by far the nicer name than Seren in my opinion. Esther is a beautiful, timeless classic name.

Anonymumous · 21/06/2012 10:49

Makes me think of Cirencester.

flopsy1974 · 21/06/2012 08:14

I really like it. Two lovely names Smile

Littlefish I was going to say "polyester" too. Sorry OP! How about Seren Estella?

DilysPrice · 20/06/2012 22:59

Agree with Abby, how often does anyone over the age of 2 say both names together?
As long as the combination of the two isn't hideous, which it isn't, then it'll be fine.

Littlefish · 20/06/2012 22:56

Sounds too like polyester in my opinion.
