my 27 week old bump is a boy and is called Arthur :)

In reading these thread over the past few weeks though it looks like its about to sky-rocket in popularity! I already have a Daniel and was hoping that this time my little boy wasnt going to be one of 3 in the class but it looks like he might!?

How many baby Arthurs are there out there!? Or is it a name people just consider then choose something else instead?

One of my twins is an Arthur. (20 months old.) I hadn't realized it was getting popular. I wanted something a bit unusual. It really suits him, though.

Staceisace · 16/06/2012 18:48

I've met/heard of a few Arthurs lately - mostly babies. It's a sweet name though and if you've been wanting to call bump that, you might not be able to think of another you love as much?

Indith · 16/06/2012 17:20

It is getting very popular. I have a baby Arthur and the registrar said she had had quite a few recently. I've liked it for years but only just had dh coming around to it coinciding with a baby of the appropriate sex Grin.

Dinosaurdrip · 16/06/2012 17:17

Arthur is my DN(1) name and also DS (4) middle name. It is my grandad's name and I love it.

randomimposter · 15/06/2012 04:50

love it. Know a couple under 5, and is DS middle name as was my darling dad's name.

Mintyy · 14/06/2012 20:11

Love it! Only know one, he is about 5 years old.

nizlopi · 14/06/2012 20:10

There is one in my sons class, I also have a friend who is my age (25/26) called Arthur. It suits both of them :)

TartyMcFarty · 14/06/2012 20:07

I was seriously considering it - then I realised it's the name of one of the Cameron children.

Alurkatsoftplay · 14/06/2012 20:02

It's a lovely name. I'm just jealous because DH vetoed it. It is growing in popularity in South East - don't know about elsewhere.

I am planning on calling my 25 week bump Arthur. I love Oliver but decided against it as so popular. Is Arthur really that popular? I look after under 5s and don't know any! Please don't let it be the next Oliver/Jack?!

Alurkatsoftplay · 14/06/2012 19:44

I know a couple of baby Arthurs and a couple of baby Marthas. It's fun getting them together.

PepperOnMyPaprikash · 14/06/2012 19:38

I know one who is six, and one who is three.

FryingNemo · 14/06/2012 19:38

I love Arthur but couldn't use it as that's the dog next door's name. Wonderful name, especially said in a French accent.

millimurphy · 14/06/2012 19:31

I have a one year old Arthur - see post by AmazingFerret :)

TinkerMaloo · 14/06/2012 19:27

ok so as long as everyone else sees that its rising up the ranks and chooses something else instead then I'll be ok ;)

I love Arthur. DP vetoed it Sad

squoosh · 14/06/2012 11:27

Arthur is soaring in popularity. Good name though.

FfoFfycsecs · 14/06/2012 10:27

I love Arthur too, but along with Jack and Finn/Flynn it's in the top 3 most popular names here. There are loadsof them. And David Cameron has one.

MarySA · 14/06/2012 10:24

I'm not keen on Arthur at all. But each to their own opinion.

ShowOfHands · 14/06/2012 10:13

Two of my favouritest MNers have just had baby Arthurs, another Mum at dd's school has an 8wo Arthur and I've seen a few more announced in the paper in the last few months. It's the new Oliver/Harry/Jack/Max round here.

Happilymarried155 · 14/06/2012 10:10

I too really love Arthur, but am horrified about its rising popularity as it seems to be on alot of threads here. I get a feeling it's going to be the next Alfie/Charlie! I'm going to have to rethink my choices!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 14/06/2012 09:37

My nephew who turned 1 yesterday is an Arthur (or Ar-har as everyone is calling him thanks to my DD)

bronze · 14/06/2012 09:34

I know one who is preteen
Don't know any babies

misslinnet · 14/06/2012 09:33

I've met one at a baby group recently. He was about 3 months old.
