What's everyone's take on Hugo?

We're due July and have only chosen one name for him. Hugo Lawrence Rennison. A lot of people aren't sure but I already call my bump Hugo, Huguenot (!), huggles ...

I don't get this 'worry' about poshness either - choose a name you love. People make names, not the other way round in my experience!

Hugo is great, however I would drop the Huggles ASAP before it sticks, no child should have that as a nickname.

Grinny smug man I know is called Hugo, so it colours it for me.
It does go well with the rest of your names though.

What's wrong with posh?

Shriekable · 13/06/2012 07:15

I think it's a great name! Sweet when they're little and cool when they grow up x

I've got a 14 week one on my lap right now! It's a great name, although we kept it a secret until he was here as we were worried about sceptics! Tactic worked as everyone loved it, I think due to attaching it to a cute newborn. So my tip would be not to discuss names with anyone else/downplay it. :)

It is my name choice if bump is a boy!

EssentialFattyAcid · 13/06/2012 07:04

It's a posh boy name

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2012 07:00

I love it Smile

Well I have a Hugo, and it really suits him. I know it's considered a posh name, and that worried me for a while (even though we are a bit posh!), however I also think it's a very funky name, easy to spell, easy to pronounce, and we get a lot of positive comments on it.

I think it sounds great with your other names.

Good luck with him!
