Sorry but it makes me think of cats. And a friend's tortoise also called Tabitha.

Love it. One of my DD's best friends is Tabitha and she gets Tibs, which is cute I think. I think associations with cats and witches are all good and Jilly Cooper associations are The Best Ever.

I love it, as I have one! No one has ever said cat name to me (apart from my DM) and only ever got nice comments.

It means gazelle.

My DD is long limbed, always running, loves cats. Suits her.

She was supposed to be nn Abi, but is actually T.

It's my number one choice for my next cat's name (we already have a Teddy :P) but it's also a sweet little girl's name and I like that there are a few possible nicknames.

Sorry, I don't like it at all. I think of cat, then witch, then chunky old maid, then girl in my class in elementary school whose mom used to make Tabitha and all her siblings do modelling for Sears and then take their money for rent b/c she was too lazy to work.

I also like it. I prefer names that aren't shortened so I'd be the parent who always calls the child by the full name.

Eg - is Tabs home?

I love it. I know a 10yr old Tabitha who is a beautiful, bright, considerate & just totaly lovely girl. She gets called Tabs by her school friends.

Without any context,'Tabitha' makes me think of Tom Kitten's mother.

Applied to a small girl, pretty name.

Applied to a grown woman, probably quite posh and clever. I don't know any way to assess the likelihood of belonging to unscientific professions but if you google 'Dr Tabitha' you will find lots of medics and scientists. Take no notice of the 'too girlie' or 'homely' naysayers Grin
