gabrielle or gabriella?

hi, i'm new to mumsnet (29 weeks pregnant with 3rd baby). have noticed you all give great advice on names - so was wondering........

gabrielle

or

gabriella

dh is dead set on the former; i'm not sure. also, any reasons why you would prefer one to the other?

Both are lovely - a determining factor for me would be your surname; obviously you may not want to post this on MN.

Say each name aloud with your surname. I think that might help you decide. (FWIW Gabriella would go best with mine!)

I think I prefer Gabriella as you've got more nn options (Gabby or Ella). Also as Gabriella is more popular if she's a Gabrielle know as Gabby people may assume her full name is Gabriella. Both are lovely though.
