35 wks pregnant- scan = girl
Names shortlisted are:
Lily Belle
Or
Meadow Elizabeth

Elizabeth is my mums middle name. I love both of these names but struggling to choose.
Perhaps an opinion poll would help? ?

Sorry , the only name I like is Elizabeth
Liliy Belle sounds like a dairy cow
Meadow is a field , not a name
Elizabeth Lily is the best combination IMHO .
But she's your baby , not mine

scottishmummy · 08/06/2012 19:46

meadow,nah too agricultural
not nice association like dung,wellies,cows

RhinestoneCowgirl · 08/06/2012 19:40

DS (5) has a friend at school called Meadow, in fact he gravely informs me that they used to go out together but now they're 'just friends'...

The name did make me ? initially, but now I think it's quite sweet.

One man went to mow, went to mow a meadow, one man and his dog, woof went to mow a meadow,
tow men went ot mow, went to mow a meadonw, tow men one man and his dog, woof went to................
shocking name, althoug I am teribly trollyed so may be not the person to judge.

I would expect some raised eyebrows upon introducing your daughter Meadow. It just seems like a very off the wall choice to me for a baby. It does sound pretty but I'm not sure it's really a goer.

Balia that made me laugh! genuinely enjoying reading all if your opinions - thank you Grin

Love Meadow - never heard of it before (as a name, obvs) and I think teaming it with a timeless classic type name is a really good idea, so if she grows up and takes against Meadow (in the way of teenagers) she can use her middle name, which isn't as much of an option for Lily Belle.

All the Elizabeths I know are solicitors, BTW, whereas Belle in Gone with the Wind could have been done for soliciting. HTH Grin

Meadow is lovely. I do know quite a few little Lily's. I love the previous posters suggestion of Lilibeth Meadow or Elizabeth (nn Lily) Meadow. Gorgeous options!

TheNightWatch · 08/06/2012 00:04

Meadow is The Sopranos. I wouldnt use it although its my most favourite show in the world. What about Willow? I love Elizabeth. Betty, Bessie, Beth. You can do so much with it.

Leftwingharpie · 07/06/2012 23:45

You must have considered Lilibeth? It sounds quite similar to Lily Belle and is a blend of Lily and Elizabeth. Lilibeth Meadow?

MamaMaiasaura · 07/06/2012 23:24

What about Melody instead of Meadow?

sugarspiceandallthingsnice324 · 07/06/2012 23:20

Lily Belle

ilovemybum · 07/06/2012 23:13

I know a 1.5 year old Meadow :) she's very cute.

I like it

hugebumpbelly · 07/06/2012 21:51

I've never heard of Meadow as a name but I can't see why it wouldn't suit a little girl as well as a grown woman. She will probably not have to 'share' her name with lots of others in her class, which she will if you name her Lily.

My vote goes to Meadow!

Geranium3 · 07/06/2012 21:43

What a pretty name meadow is, very evocative, do have meadow elizabeth, your dd can only be a happy and beautiful baby with such a gorgeous name!

StepOutOfSpring · 07/06/2012 20:29

Do you like other nature names? Daisy, Poppy, Ashley, Hayley, Rowan, May, Willow, Holly, Violet, Laurel, Briony, Summer, Amber, Iris, Clover, Skye?

Lily - overused and twee.
Meadow - along the lines of Dawn in that it sounds tripe, plus because it's unusual reminds me of deers and gazelles prancing around a field. Which are cool and all, but. Plus I can't think how it could sound good with a surname, unless you plonk the middle name artificially in there when you recite it. Meadow Jones? Meadow Smith? No.

Go Lily Elizabeth if you must.

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 07/06/2012 18:18

Meadow Elizabeth is lovely. Really like it

underthevalley · 07/06/2012 18:05

I like Meadow but then I like Lily as well.
Really don't like Belle though so it would be Meadow Elizabeth for me

Pasiphae · 07/06/2012 10:44

Lily Belle is the more popular choice and the combo is a bit "cheesy".
Meadow Elizabeth seems more elegant.

MarySA · 07/06/2012 10:42

Lily is OK. Not sure about Meadow. Have you any other names in mind.
