Hi all :) only 18 weeks but for some reason names are really bothering me especially since DH and I are struggling to agree . Boy middle name will be David and girl middle name will be Johanna . Let me know what you thank :)

Boys

Jacob
Max
Evan
Jonah

Girls

Charlotte (possible nn Callie)
Georgia (nn Georgie)
Violet

These are all we have and at that I am not completely in love with any of them like I was (am) with dc1 name . she is Phoebe .

TIA :)

Jacob and Charlotte

SiioCal · 03/06/2012 13:18

run I like Imogen too but h has just completely vetoed it . Because of the Ryan giggs thing . That doesnt bother me .

I think I need more unusual boys names tho . Like Xavier or something Grin Althought I don't think I'll get away with that in the west of Scotland Hmm

Jacob and Charlotte.

happyhorse · 03/06/2012 09:42

Jacob is my favourite of your boys names. I only know of one other but you shouldn't let popularity put you off if you like it.

Charlotte is lovely and doesn't need shortening or having a nn IMO. How about Clara as an alternative - that goes quite nicely with Phoebe.

I wouldn't worry about how the names sound with your chosen middle names, as middle names hardly ever get used.

Runoutofideas · 03/06/2012 09:20

I have dds with 2 of your girls names, so am a bit biased and think they're lovely. Names we also liked included :

Imogen
Amelia

Alexander/dra
Jacob
William

BTW - I was insistent that my Charlotte would be Lottie but she is in fact often Charlie as it suits her cheeky, tomboy nature better! I also have a friend with Phoebe/Georgia siblings and they seem to go nicely together.

winkle2 · 02/06/2012 23:34

Violet Johanna is lovely!

monkeymoma · 02/06/2012 19:27

I like Willow
dislike Clark

SiioCal · 02/06/2012 19:21

I know Remus I hate it it's an old mans name Grin

OP posts:
monkeymoma · 02/06/2012 19:20

agree that Callie doesn't seem like a NN for Charlotte

monkeymoma · 02/06/2012 19:19

Jacob - lovely
Max - don't like
Evan - lovely
Jonah - lovely

Girls

Charlotte (possible nn Callie) - lovely
Georgia (nn Georgie) - lovely, prefer Georgina but Georgia is lovely too
Violet - very very nowish, not keen

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/06/2012 19:16

Sorry but Clark is terrible.

SiioCal · 02/06/2012 19:10

Thanks for all the input MNersSmile

We have thrown a few more into the mix . I've decided I now like Willow . DH loves Clark . Any thoughts on these ?

Good list - though some of your names are a bit popular for my taste. I like Evan, Jonah and Violet.

shoobidoo · 01/06/2012 10:45

Love, love Johanna (pronounced Yo-hanna)! I'd choose that as first name. Otherwise Charlotte is nice too.

I don't really like any of your boys' names, I'm afraid.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/05/2012 19:58

Like Jacob and Max. Dislike Evan and Jonah. Like David.

Like Charlotte but Callie seems a strange nn for it. Like Violet. Hate Georgia but love Georgiana. However, both sound weird with Johanna. Charlotte Johanna works best imho.

missingmymarbles · 31/05/2012 19:00

Jacob David, Evan David and Jonah David all sound good together; I think Jonah David is the nicest. I'm not keen on Max David.

I have a cousin who is Charlotte Joanna Smile I like Charlotte Johanna the best from your girls list. I think it has a pretty ring to it. I like Georgia, but think it sounds like a lot of alliteration with Johanna (that said our DD2's initials are going to be SFF when she arrivesSmile). I'm not keen on Violet so wouldn't really consider it.

SiioCal · 31/05/2012 18:38

Thanks lannie

Yeah Johanna has a special family connection so it will definitely be MN regardless of first name . But I think it is a bit of a mouthful !

Love all your names. Would not use Jacob because of personal phobia of popular names...but maybe Jake.

For girls, all beautiful names. I especially love Callie.
I agree with whoever said Georgia Johanna sounds not the most ideal, but IMO still an OK combination. If you're toally set on Johanna for middle, I'd be partial to Charlotte/"Callie" or Violet.

SiioCal · 31/05/2012 14:54

I'm loving the suggestions will need to see what DH thinks tonight Grin

ViolaCrayola · 31/05/2012 14:10

I like Jonah and Violet best.

Some more suggestions:

Ezra
Noah
Alexander

Sophia
Stella
Josephine

SiioCal · 31/05/2012 14:02

Yeah I like jonas too go but the jonas brothers really put me off it !!

Oooh juliette will need to mention that one to DH Smile

SugarBatty · 31/05/2012 13:47

Max and violet

GoPoldark · 31/05/2012 13:43

Names possibly a bit like Evan:

Dylan

Ifan (ee-van)

Jonas as an alternative to Jonah?

Names which for no good reason I would think someone who loved Phoebe would like:

Juliette

Melissa

Tamar

Carys

Linnet

othersideofchannel · 31/05/2012 13:38

I love Charlotte and Violet!

Not that keen on your boys' names - very popular already - but I'd choose Evan if I had to pick one.

suburbandream · 31/05/2012 13:37

Boys

Jacob - quite a lot of them about
Max - ditto
Evan - love it, wish we'd used it for DS2 Smile
Jonah - not overly keen

Girls

Charlotte (possible nn Callie) - never liked it but that's probably just me!
Georgia (nn Georgie) - love it
Violet - love it, although people might think of Violet Beauregard or Violet Elizabeth (if they are as old as me Wink)
