Which do you prefer for a little boy?

Yeah I have seen Ezra in particular popping up again and again.....though wether or not people will actually pick the name in the end I don't know. That's the thing about the mn names may come up as considerations over and over but there may not be that many babies getting the names. Look at dark greener.com....very few Asa and Ezra babies around!! Congrats on your little Ezra what has the feedback been like for you??

My 3 week old DS is called Ezra, I think it's a beautiful name

Asa is pretty cool too

I think these names are going to become very popular soon they keep popping up everywhere

thisisyesterday · 31/05/2012 12:39

yes, i do, he's nearly 3 now :)

I mostly get "that's interesting" or "ooh where did you get that from" in response to his name.
Unsure whether that's positive, negative or just meh though lol

Had some people who've said what a lovely name it is as well though, and no outwardly negative remarks

AdventuresWithVoles · 31/05/2012 12:33

Neither (sorry).
I have some in my family trees (born 1790 or 1830) so strong associations for me. Nothing bad, I just think folk will ask you twice what you said & how to spell them, and I prefer names that are less work.

DottieRose · 31/05/2012 12:29

Oooh thisisyesterday.....do you have an Asa?? I am sooooo nosy but what kind of comments and reactions to you get to it? Grin

well I would go with Asa.

but then I am biased Wink

noddyholder · 31/05/2012 12:25

Friends ds nn is Ash

DottieRose · 31/05/2012 12:25

Noddy that is what I like about them......not ten a penny but not totally out there!! And both are biblical which appeals to me as it gives them a nice sense of history!

SLVC · 31/05/2012 12:16

Both great, but go with Asa - there can't be a much cooler nn for a teenage boy that Ace!

noddyholder · 31/05/2012 11:11

One was at school with my ds and I don't recall anyone commenting on it. I don't see ezra's mum she lives miles away so not sure. I think they are both lovely individual but not whacky

DottieRose · 31/05/2012 11:06

Noddyholder.........do you know what kind of reactions your friends boys get to their names??? Smile

Ezra is gorgeous, I love it.

Asa is also nice but I am not familiar with it.

noddyholder · 31/05/2012 10:14

2 of my fave and oldest friends have one each of these I like both! The boys are both 18 now and lovely so am prob biased.

AllRiseForHerVaj · 31/05/2012 10:13

Both lovely names. Asa by a whisker.

nightswimmer · 30/05/2012 22:57

I love Asa. beautiful name. Both nice though, good and strong

janx · 30/05/2012 22:55

I think Asa is great name. My dd went to nursery with a very cool boy called Asa - I like how it sounds - like aceGrin

DottieRose · 30/05/2012 22:52

Samuel will be the middle name after my father! Yeah I told a few people Ezra was a possibility and they seemed to have never heard of it which I find odd!

I have a 7 month old called Ezra and I still love it. It means bringer of aid which is cool. My only annoyance is that I often have to repeat his name to people and people always ask if he's a girl. Grrr. Asa is lovely too but might throw even more pronunciation problems your way. Have you got a middle name?

evamummy · 30/05/2012 22:09

Ezra definately for me.

Asa is a girls' name in Sweden and is the name of my friend's mother in law, so to me it is very feminine.

Flubba · 30/05/2012 21:41

Ezra is the better of the two IMHO although I've only ever taught very naughty Ezras so that would dissuade me

Lunarlyte · 30/05/2012 21:38

Um, that should have been your DS, not my potential, yet-to-be-even-thought-about-conceiving-DS!

Lunarlyte · 30/05/2012 21:37

Oh my, it just has to be Ezra. We have 2 DDs but if we were to have another child and it was a boy, Ezra would be a name I'd seriously consider.

That's the name for DS as far as I'm concerned! x

DottieRose · 30/05/2012 21:15

It looks like its pretty even between Asa and Ezra so far!!! Aaahhh!

OP posts:
DottieRose · 30/05/2012 20:51

The problem for me is that I like them both the same! Just can't decide. The pros for Asa is that it both looks and sounds nice but could there be ass jokes??? The pros for Ezra is it looks nice but not sure if it sounds nicer than Asa. Plus I have a son with an E name already....but that is not a deal breaker! Also my sons name is three letter so it may be nice to have two three letter names!
