Bay is slightly better. Doesn't Kirsty Allsopp have a Bay? that would put me off for life

Thor is...just...sorry, no. It's awful. Unless he's built like the proverbial brickhouse or absolutely jawdroppingly attractive you are going to set him up for a lifetime of disappointment.

Floggingmolly · 30/05/2012 22:01

That doesn't make it any less shite, thegreylady Grin

thegreylady · 30/05/2012 21:53

Kirsty Allsopp has a boy named Bay

PercyFilth · 30/05/2012 20:51

And it's a no from me.

Pretentious. People would snigger.

DancingwithDragons · 30/05/2012 18:38

Ha ha, the Thorbay stuff really tickled me Grin

I don't mind Bay but it is a Meh!!

Thor is terrible.

And i like different names Hmm

MarySA · 30/05/2012 18:37

Both pretty dreadful I think. Sometimes I wonder if these threads are serious.

Tinkerisdead · 30/05/2012 18:32

Kirstie allsop admitted to being a mnetter and her son is bay atlas isnt he...?

Kirstie, is that you...?

Lovecat · 30/05/2012 18:27

The Thunder God set out to ride
Upon his favourite filly
"I'm Thor!" he cried
The horse replied
"You forgot your thaddle, thilly"

Sorry, couldn't resist it :o

PrematurelyAirconditioned · 30/05/2012 18:24

"....and she said to me 'You're Thor? I can hardly pith'"

Errm sorry, very old comics joke there.

I had a guy in our class at school called Thor. Looking back I do wonder what the hell his parents were thinking (because it was by no means a "cool" or "alternative" environment), but he carried it off really well and it was fine. I don't think being named after a hit movie is that big a problem in future for the child, but the parent might get judged a bit.

Floggingmolly · 30/05/2012 18:14

No to both. Classic, my arse Hmm

MonaLotte · 30/05/2012 18:11

I prefer Bay I think it's nice.

MoonHare · 30/05/2012 18:08

Don't like either but if it had to be one of then Bay. Thor is the kind of name people give their chihuahua as a joke.

FoofFighter · 30/05/2012 16:50

Do you like Troy?

squoosh · 30/05/2012 15:57

Obviously Thor is a classic Norse name but Bayard to me is a surname.

evamummy · 30/05/2012 15:55

I regard Bayard as a classic, old name. I have an 80 year old great uncle named this, nicknamed Bay. So te me it is a 'classic' name.

Thor, of course, is a very old name from Norse Mythology.

AllRiseForHerVaj · 30/05/2012 15:26

Thor - awful
Bay - Posh Spice might have called Harper this if she'd been a boy. No.

lisaro · 30/05/2012 15:23

Thor is bad enough but Bay? Absolutely ridiculous. Hopefully whoever said they were classic names was bring sarcastic.

FredQuimby · 30/05/2012 15:16

Awful and awful. Really, really awful. Pretentious and really awful!

StepOutOfSpring · 30/05/2012 15:13

I like Thor, Bay is quite nice.

susiedaisy · 30/05/2012 15:07

GrinGrinGrin

squoosh · 30/05/2012 15:06

How is Bay a classic name??????

Frankie Boyle's son is called Thor. Thor Boyle.

Well yes, boils can be quite thore.

Catsdontcare · 30/05/2012 14:59

Well I suppose Thor on its own is ok as long as your last name isn't play.

I will leave now.
