How do you pronounce Eugenie?

I don't want to name a baby Eugenie, just saw it on another thread and it set me off wondering how to pronounce it, as I do whenever I see Princess Eugenie mentioned. I always thought it was you- GEE knee, but then I saw an article suggesting YOU- je-knee. Anyone?

I realised I didn't really show hard or soft 'g': I say yew-zhee-knee (and for a boy, yew-zheen)

From the french/latin - you-j-nee

But i think princess E is you-jane-ee

I also started out thinking it was you-gee-knee but since then have heard on the news and such as you-JAY-knee, emphasis middle syllable.

You-Jay-Knee. Emphasis on the middle syllable

You-Jay-knee I believe.

I say "yew-gee-knee" with pretty even stress on each syllable.

You-jean-ie I think. Although I caveat that I have a Scottish accent, this is how my mum pronounces it and she is more than a little in love with the royals.
