No.

Lannie33 · 31/05/2012 14:09

I immediately thought of Miley Cyrus.

I do like the sounds of it though.

What about Myla (like MY-lah), Mila, Maia, or Kylie or Rylie?

Lunarlyte · 30/05/2012 22:27

So we're even!

scottishmummy · 30/05/2012 22:21

you being chippy was as rude as the perceived slight

Lunarlyte · 30/05/2012 22:18

It wasn't meant to be lame. I have manners and as I havn't been on MN for all that long, wasn't aware that it was a cliche.

Thank you so much for enlightening me.

scottishmummy · 30/05/2012 22:11

I think the use of an obvious mn quip was lame

Lunarlyte · 30/05/2012 22:06

So you don't think the way that comment was directed was rude, then?

scottishmummy · 30/05/2012 21:52

did you intend to use such a mn cliche?

Lunarlyte · 30/05/2012 21:48

Nizlopi Did you mean to be so rude?

nizlopi · 30/05/2012 19:51

You have a Finley and you were thinking of naming your daughter Mylee.

Wow.

Plunkett · 29/05/2012 19:27

He's a Finley. We've got a long time to go so in no rush, will keep looking :)

If you want to share your 6yo's name, people might have an idea of the type of names you like and help give some suggestions?

Plunkett · 29/05/2012 18:54

Ha Ha, Miley/Mylee is out then. Didn't love it so good to know others reactions to it (hadn't read/posted in this forum before so didn't realise people had such strong opinions about names Grin ).

We have a 6 year old and between family, friends and mums &tot/nursery/school friends we've met along the way there's not a lot of names left.

MoonHare · 29/05/2012 16:11

Not keen. It sounds made up and instantly brings the irritating Miley Cyrus to mind.

Doesn't really have any gravitas, what if she wants to be Prime Minister?

You may regret asking for opinions!! But if you and DH like it then no-one elses opinon really matters, I suppose at least this way you'll know what everyone is secretly thinking when you tell them...

BelleTheBeatnik · 29/05/2012 16:05

It's not awful, just not to many people's taste. If you're going to get fed up with the Miley Cyrus connotations, I wouldn't, but if you both really want to use it, don't let the opinions of others put you off, because names are very, very subjective.

Whether a name is 'pretty' or not is a matter of opinion, and not everyone likes classic name! Grin

squoosh · 29/05/2012 16:01

That should have been 'Well Holy God Biddy'.

squoosh · 29/05/2012 16:01

I don't think of Mily Cyrus at all!

I do however think of Miley from Glenroe
www.rte.ie/news/2010/0831/lallyimages_gallery.html

Well, Holy God!

lisaro · 29/05/2012 15:53

Ugly and naff.

MarySA · 29/05/2012 15:51

I think it's pretty horrible. Especially when there are so many pretty and classic girls names around on these threads.

I thought I was a typo of mylene. Cyrus' real name is destiny hope. Myley is a nickname

manicinsomniac · 29/05/2012 09:19

I'm not keen, personally.

I do quite like Macie/Macey or Maya/Maia or even Mira/Mila

I think it it's the combination of both the aye and the ee sounds that I don't like about Mylee/Miley

thegreylady · 29/05/2012 08:18

Sorry.....I think it is horrible too

scentednappyhag · 28/05/2012 21:34

How about Mila? It's the same kind of sound?

scottishmummy · 28/05/2012 21:32

ghastly,I'd think mylene klass
Miley is nn, not her christened name
