'Masculine' sounding girls names.

I cannot abide overly twee girls names, and am hoping to find something that sounds 'masculine' and almost surnamey.

At the moment I like-
Sloane
Tate
Blair
Peyton
Quinn
Whittier

Any other suggestions? Ideally they'd go with classical, albeit more feminine name like Charlotte, Alice, Jane...

Just a small thought (and I whisper this quietly)....

It really doesnt matter what you call your DD. You dont have to give her a strong name to make her strong. You can call her Fluffy Princess but if you imbue her with strength it really wont matter because when she is playing in the front row of England's women's first 15 they will call her Fluff and love her none the less.

I wish you joy of your daughter.

I like Peta :)

Sydney?

I know a little girl called that and I really like it.

I have a DD with a 'boys name with an 'ia' on the end' and that works......

I think I'd prefer a twee girls name rather than almost any of these suggested. What exactly is a twee girls name.

I like Lyall for a girl or boy.

StetsonsAreCool · 18/05/2012 23:08

My DD is Darcey, which at the time we thought was a 'stronger' girls name and more surnamey. It seemed less girly than our other ideas anyway.

As she's got older, it seems to have got cuter though, so maybe that's not such a good example.
