Cecilia or Cecily?

We can't decide! On the one hand we like Cecilia because it's more formal/traditional and a stronger female name. But the Simon and Garfunkel song is a bit irritating.

But Cecily is so pretty. But I wonder whether it's not a strong enough name and that it doesn't pass the high court judge test. (although I'm sure she is pretty unlikely to end up being a high court judge anyway).

What do you think?

Oh and I know the "blind" meaning and don't mind it.

Thanks everyone!

Cecilia for sure. It's strong and better as an adult. I think Cecily is a bit like Cecil i.e. male sounding.

Also Lia is nice shortening.

The s&g song shouldn't be reason to avoid Cecilia. Grin
